A thing that is very important i think is the abillity to customize your ships appearance. It woud be really great, If you coud add symbols like your corp- Logo or a Minmatar, Amarr, etc logo.. custom text maybe.. and different colors and such.. since you fly around in your ship i think its very important how it looks.. since you have to stick with it for a long time.. (unless you change ship..) at least corp logos... or colors... it woud be a great improvement and add a new level of creativity.. and also more variation wich is a really important thing for a mmorpg.. since its easy to get bored doing the same thing all the time.. and when things looks the same.
also there are too few ships.. but thats a whole different discussion... at least this woud make your ship and you more unique....

Agree. Would be a very cool feature. Though, Ive heard the devs mention it in the past and, if I remember correctly, there are some client-side perfomance issues with it.

There were a "Paintshop" station service in the early beta/late alpha stages. It was removed for preformance issues if I am not misstaken.

Id like to see some sort of customisation options too. Even if it was just customisable paintjobs.
When I was playing Planetside in its early stages the Devs spent alot of time working on a Icon system where the Icons chosen by your Outfit would be displayed on your vehicles and armour.
If this idea could be transfered to EVE, seeing as Corp Icons are already displayed on players "Show Info" windows couldn't these Icons be put on the Hulls of ships flown by player Corps.
As for Custom paintjobs, without knowing to much about EVEs coding, but seeing as AI such as the Navys and Rats have custom paint colors on their ships. Yesterday I was against a Red Tristan. Wouldnt it be possible to offer a range of base skins, of maybe just the basic rainbow colors, to offer a whole new level of Customisation for player ships aswell.
Just hoping because Character customisation is always one of my favourite parts of games, thats why I loved EVEs portrait creation section during Character creation.

yeah corp logos and colors on ships would be awesome... and also isnt it possible to modify the color of the lights and the engines-flame thingy? doesnt some npc pirates have different colors?
