Here's a 2-part article (Part 1 and Part 2) on how to set-up you overview. This is very helpful and should be considered a must read for any new player, or even veterans looking to refresh their memories!
Thanks Nyphur!

fter reading, I've been trying to isolate corp members in the overview but have been unsuccessful.
(1) I've deselected everything in the types section and have checked all ships. (2) In the states section, I unchecked all states then checked "pilot is in your corporation". The overview remained empty while corp members were in proximity. (3) If I also check "pilot has neutral standing" then the corp members will appear in the overview with random pilots who also have neutral standing. (4) If I then uncheck "pilots is in your corporation" , then corp members will dissappear from the overview.
How do I isolate corp members?

The problem is that the states menu is an exclusion list rather than an inclusion list. That means it starts with them all on by default and then every option that's deselected will be removed from the overview. Selecting only "pilot is a member of my corp" won't show all your corp members because they also fell under one of the other filter options that you removed (pilot has neutral standing).
If you want to show only your corp members in a tab, you can try setting your standings with your corp to +10 and then selecting "pilot is a member of my corp" and "pilot has high standings". This will also show any other corps you or your corp have set to +10 so it's not a perfect solution. If you haven't set anyone else above +5.0 standings it should work, though. |

what are brackets? |

Brackets are just those little icons on the main game screen that show up on ships, wrecks, stargates etc. When you make an overview tab, it lets you select which saved overview profile to use for your overview's settings and which one to use in the "bracket" settings. For example, you can make an overview profile that doesn't display members of your fleet. If you then make a new overview tab and select that profile under "brackets", opening that overview tab makes your fleet members not show up on the main game screen.
It's a handy way to remove clutter from the game screen and not just the overview. You can even use it to make wreck icons disappear from the screen when doing missions or anything else you want.

Edited by: Letouk Mernel on 03/09/2008 03:58:11 Brackets are the [] or the + things that are superimposed on ships in space (not in the Overview). Without [], it would be really hard to see even a battleship at long range (100km+). You can disable them for things you don't care about, though.

Thanks for clearing that up. Its been bugging me for a while now.
