What are people, who are camping the gates, looking for? Industrials, Cruisers, and stuff like that. Why not fly a small, unassuming ship for small items? If you're doing it right, it'll make it through most systems, unharmed.

Quote: Why velators should not be used as cargo runners ;p
because everyone worth their salt knows the velator is the dps nub ship
go get an reaper to take cargo and 1 more thing. Do you know what really gets on my nerves? When you cant tell a sig from a post. |

Why not a shuttle, or fast T1 frigates? Noob-ships don't really have good stats, do they? |

Depends on the ship.
the reaper actually makes a pretty good courier boat. Fast, light, enough slots to mount a few modifications (unlike a shuttle) and nearly as small. They also have a much better cargo hold then, say, a shuttle.

But implants dont take any cargo space. Not that it matters tho as the shuttle would have popped too.

Yeah, that makes sense. Let's fly tiny, nigh-weightless implants through systems in a Blockade Runner. Maybe if you need the cargospace for large amounts of items, but the cost/value ratio is way out of whack. There are many, many other ships I'd go with, before that.

wat blockade runners are pretty much impossible to smartbomb unlike interceptors and they're bloody fast plus they come with two free WCS. Sounds good to me.

Yup - this.
T1 frig = smartbombed. Your alignment time is irrelevant.
BR (at least prenano nerf) just about insta warps, and can tank a smart bomb volley.
Covert op ships are good too because the SBing BS won't know when you're warping to the gate.

heh that's why I always say 'a kill is a kill' :) never pass it on just because its a worthless ship :) nice kill... really really stupid of him to use a velator for this though... for hauls like this covops or even a force recon is the way to go. A pilgrim can carry over 800m3 and it cant be catched in lowsec unless the pilot lags... same way a cov-ops can carry over 400m3

You can scan the cargo if ur really out to make ISK without blowing everyone up.

It seems that people are no longer reading posts.
The newb frig was SMARTBOMBED. When the BS saw the ship it activated all the bombs and blew it up instantly.
Also, dont think that just cause it is a newb frigate doesnt mean that you T1 or T2 frigate wont get popped either.

Intercetors pop to if you run into a Disko BS, wouldnŠt even place my ISK on a AF(400mm plated Wolf might survive this). ---- Nerf Tank - Boost Gank!

the perfect ship is you want to avoid being cargo scanned and suicide killed. Hell I am a carebear anti-pirate.. and I would suicide a ship with that cargo I would just have to blame it on a slot2 implant short circuit, impairing my judgement.
I think the person just got the concept wrong. that is the best way to deliver such good sto say... Rens. But in lowsec.... Not such a good idea. I consider the missing pleasure hub interior a bug.. even if it is not. Please fix it. :P |

maybe he was trying a bluff... hoping that you'd have pity on him because he was a "newbie"... and crossing his fingers you wouldnt check his char's age before targeting him.

Was he autopiloting, or warping to zero? The sad thing is they probably farm so much ISK (running ten computers with five clients running on each) that the loss of a few billion on one character (multiplied by the probability of such loss) isn't worth sitting there at the computer and warping to zero and ignoring the 49 other characters mining ice and running L4 missions in Sasoutikh or Lustrevik.

You're joking, right? Do you know how many people jump into exactly that to go pick up a billion worth of skillbooks? Implants? Shuttles drop some of the best loot around.
