I have level 3 cruiser. What's stopping me from flying into 00 sec space and checking things out? Can't I avoid "blobs" by just going right to a gate? It's really getting boring in high sec space and I'm about to toss this game unless they change it so I can move around. WHATS SPACE FOR ANYWAY?

As you probably have read (there's a great post on CAOD today in fact). You cannot go ANYWHERE in 0.0 and expect NOT to be blown up (even if you're flying a titan). If you want to check out 0.0 I recommend a shuttle or noobship (unless you can afford to lose your cruiser). Now that doesn't mean that 0.0 = instadeath. It often safer in nullsec than lo-sec. Fit a cloak, never warp straight to a gate (jump to the nearest celestial object to the gate and use your scanner to check what's up ahead) and be ready to run alot (spending 30mins warping between safespots, belts and planets is not uncommon if someone truly wants to kill you). Never EVER jump to a moon (there might be a POS there and it will lock you down and blow you up before you know it's there).
I'd recommend joining a nice corp with access to 0.0 or with 0.0 experience and start from there.
There's only one sig that matters... and that's Radius. |

You are more than welcome to come check HED-GP out. It's a 0.0 system next to high-sec Khanid, so you don't have to risk going through low-sec.
It's a lovely place and it's the door to all of New Eden's southern 0.0 territories.
I am looking forward to seeing you in local <3

In 0.0, you're likely to get bubbled at the entrance gates and be unable to warp off - scrambling has a few more dimensions in 0.0 than in lowsec
Also, you're not going to have a ton to do in a cruiser apart from pop a few frigates or other cruisers, and if they have backup you'll usually die fast
That said, 0.0 is a blast and if you can find a good corp it gets better. :) ----------------------------- Signature for sale :o |

Do whatever is groovy for ya. Chances are you will be blobed, or attacked, or pinned down in a system, but hey, keep your clone up to date, insure your T1 Cruiser, and **** around i nullsec. There are ways to get in without getting killed. I'd reccomend NOT going in at NPC controlled space. its a bad bad idea, since everyone and their Dog PVPs there.

Go for it, you'll likely find yourself out a cruiser, but that's pretty cheap for what you're likely to learn.

Shiny n00bs are so cute. One I talked to in Corp a while ago somehow successfully managed to kill a fail-fit other n00b who was attempting a can flip, with like 2 t1 drones for dps. The brutal engagement musta took 30 or 40 minutes.
He then said dramatically "Well, it's clear I can defend myself, maybe it's time to go check out LowSec and do some mining for better ores."
Naturally, everyone encouraged him to do so but made sure to mention updating his clone and getting insurance "just in case".
