For all those of you who've tried to do anything in Motsu or Dodixie you can't move for tripping over 30 CNRs outside the busy stations. I know this has been suggested before but couldn't see it on the first few pages. Suggestion: Agent quality moves over time as people run missions for them. As they get more popular they don't need to pay as much to hire capsuleers so their quality goes down. A poor un-loved agent on the edge of low-sec will pay more to get capsuleers to come and visit her - her quality rises over time.
The main problem I can forsee with this: All the high-quality agents will end up in low-sec. Although the low-sec population won't think this is an issue it is an effect that needs to be considered.
And if agent quality is dynamic then it could be used for other purposes too. If you're only willing to run half her missions then she won't pay you as much. For example "I don't want to get sent into low-sec (or high-sec!)" costs 10 effective quality points. For courier agents... "I don't want to travel more than 5 jumps" costs 5 quality.

I do like the idea of dynamic quality and being able to fine-tune the mission pool for a cost.
However, I do not like the idea of agents degrading. Instead, I'd suggest what someone before suggested, that the agent quality improves with your standings towards him/his corp. |

Agent effective quality already moves with your standing towards them. The way the game works at the moment I can add up to 29 to the effective quality of an agent. 20 points from Negotiation and 9 points from standing - it rounds your standing down to the nearest integer. Since you can never get to 10 you can get 9 points from standing. This, however, only moves the agent relative to you. It's still more profitable to use the same high-quality agent as everyone else.
The idea behind dynamic agent quality is to move agent missions into the same "contention" mindset that pervades the rest of EVE. As it stands you can permanently use the same resource (a high-quality agent) without diminishing that resource for yourself and without affecting anyone else's access to that resource.
Wtih dynamic quality you are forced to stay away from other people (or to keep them away) to get the best returns.

Yes, but you still "need" to use the highest possible agent. Instead of having an inherent quality, agents should have no quality at all, only with regard to your standing.

I don't think that many will like the ways of a nomadic life. I know I wouldn't if I'm forced to, even though I like to travel around the universe. |

I think we're trying to achieve different things. Making agent quality depend on the number of missions that are run successfully for them means agents are a contested resource. If everyone likes my agent then he's not worth as much.
