Try checking the task manager to see if anything is causing blocking in the system. I'd recommend disabling unnecessary processes and background items until you find the culprit.

You need to check your memory using a decent low level tester (memtest386) You can also consider removing the display drivers using something like drivecleaner. Drop into safe mode after running drivecleaner and run it again to remove virtual device drivers, then reinstall the correct drivers for your graphics card. Disable sound.

I have crashes ever since I installed the Premium client, but only under certain conditions: When the application is windowed, and I am near a star gate or station or POS, where there are large complex models to be rendered.
If I am full screen, OR not near a gate/station/POS, everything is fine. I get appplication events in the event log in Windows XP like this:
Faulting application exefile.exe, version 4.10.0.51631, faulting module blue.dll, version 5.10.0.56434, fault address 0x000552e6.
I've bug-reported this a couple times, and all the devs do is continually ask for more and more information which require a lot of work on my part, and they never actually do anything. It's quite frustrating.

As reported in some german pc-magazines, nVidia is facing troubles with some of their gpu's.
Mentioned are a couple of series 9600 based notebook gpu's and only a few desktop gpu's as well. Errors occuring with those gpu's involved seem to cause freezes and force the monitor to switch into standby mode ("No signal" message) Try Google to read more about this issue. |
