Hi folks.
I've been enjoying the game for a while now and have started getting comfortable in my role in the universe. So I was looking at new things to do and thought, "how fast can I get a ship to go?"
Now I've been slapping multiple MWD's on frigates, after burner arrays, overdrives, etc and enjoying the heck out of them. Now I want to figure out what would be even faster?
Currently my Merlin with two MWD's and two OD's (no named components right now) can get up to 17 KM/s. I can only do that once though so it's fun while it lasts. ;)
So here's the deal, I was looking at getting the Mimtar Interceptor since it's got a base speed of 475 m/s. Would that be the fastest thing out there or not?
(Oh, and if you give me any ship set-ups please only NON-Named items. Just so others can do this too. :) )

I had a Rifter going 22.8km/s with Cold Gas MWD's and named overdrives, though Vigil's are probably faster in short burns since you might be able to pry an AB on it.
Interceptors will completely blow away any normal frigate, obviously. I had my brand new Crow flying at 48.4km/s last night. You're about 900km away after 14 seconds with that setup.

Malediction or Stiletto I'd say.
Not really sure, depends on if you can activate 4 mwd before running out of cap on the Stiletto..
Vigil is the fastest non-interceptor.

Stilletto - 157km/sec for bursts (3mwd)
Claw 17km/sec sustainable(using named stuff)
normal firgates the vigil is just marginaly quicker than a rifter

Crow can do easily 135 km/s (for bursts) with regular modules.

I've pushed 58km/s out of a Tristan with 3 mwd. But it eat the cap pretty darn fast.

I are leet, then.
Got my Tristan to 66K/sec ;)
But aye, that was 1 burst, and my cap was gone after it. Short while after, though, it was pretty full again. I'll gladly confess, though, that that 66K is not a sustainable speed. :)

Ive done 193 km/sec in a crow. Obviously I would be faster in the Stiletto though.

I think the claw is better than the stiletto, I still have to try some more setups on the stiletto, but so far I haven't been able to maintain more than 2 MWD's and that doesn't get you going as fast as a claw.

Tristan = 70km/s.
Vigil = 98km/s.
Incursus = 101km/s.
All of them using three catalyzed cold-gas MWDs.
The Vigil should go faster than the Incursus when/if I find a way to activate all three MWDs at once and not as now with the 3rd one firing with a slight delay, due to capacitor problems.
[EDIT] It would obviously also give the Vigil an advantage if I trained the fifth level of Minmatar frigate to get the full bonus to velocity [/EDIT]
[EDIT2] I just did some planning and I need 40 days to train for the ultimate Vigil speed experiment, I expect you guys to keep bumping this thread until then  [/EDIT2]

The rifter is the hands-down KING of frigate PvP, as it offers much more bang for your buck than interceptors, and requires less training time.
Also, since it's preferable to use projectiles and missiles on it, it uses no cap besides the MWD, and maybe a scrambler. But a scrambler is pushing it, nonetheless.
Second to the rifter, I love the Taranis, the frigate-sized damage king. 50% MWD-Megathron shield down in 10 seconds before I realized I had the wrong sort of scramblers fitted and my cap died.

You guys are talking some nice numbers, and again I'd love to see Screens.
I'm planning on buying a Rifter for now when I want speedy delivery. (I fight in my Cruiser)

My top speed so far in this game was 150km/s
with my malediction,had 3 named mwds fitted,undocked at torrinos and blew em' away....jeez,i hate to crash in thos planets
