And why should they, if someone is stupid enough to accept that contract, they deserve the rewards it entails. |

It's not a scam. It's a trap. |

True, however this is clearly a bug. The contract shows a positive number in two different places. |

Eh, where's the problem with the contract? You will receive 12.9 mil in exchange for a freighter.
Still a scam but nothing different from the old Navy Raven one.
Or am i not getting anything? |

Edited by: venus divine on 01/09/2008 08:49:04 its not a scam, somebody just isn't good with numbers and wrote that he offers 12bil for a fenrir while he only offers 12mil.
Its an honest mistake.
/saracasm off
What do u think dude? There is thousands of this kind of contracts in eve, not just for freighters, but for other ships and mods too.. Dont get all naggy about it, its common sight and if u are stupid enough to accept this kind of offer, then u simply deserve beeing "scammed".. |

No, the contracts says "PRICE : minus 12.97 mil and some items". Negative price means you get the cash (shown in green in the contract details) but you lose the items

Of course we understand it.
Either the poster "forgot" three decimal places or they didn't. Anyone in the contract market - and this forum - knows to read the fine print and decide upon that.
The people in here who buy and sell blueprint contracts are old hats at looking at contract details - and this type of thing is not new, interesting, or unique. In eve, it's buyer beware. |

1 ISK tip: set minimum price value to 1 ISK and half the Eve scams will disappear from the contract window.
But then you'll miss half the fun of checking contracts ;) |

Not this. I think first timers, who fall to this kind of trap, aren't so much stupid as inexperienced. Those who fall for it more than that... |

I just want to be able to put more than 80 people on my blocklist... I cleared it a few days ago assuming that a lot of my old blocks will have given up or been reprocessed but I filled it again in a very short time. |

What's there NOT to understand ? Guy says he gives x bil for freighter, he actually offers x mil. Everything else is perfectly normal.

Yea i don't really see the problem either. Scamming is just another way to make a living in EVE. Sure it sucks to be scammed, but it also sucks to get ransomed/blown up/whatever.

Problem is the lack of recourse, cause and effect as long as you have this then scamming is not a issue. Currently if you do get scammed you cannot use bounty service, its just an alt which means why aren't we all doing it?
Makes me wonder if all Icelanders are scammers :D

The alt problem is present in the whole of Eve. But how in the world could that problem be solved? There isn't a solution to it really.
Anyway, at least 99% of all scams are so goddamn obvious that with just a little attention (like, reading the whole contract before accepting) you'll be fine.
Another advice is that if you're looking for something specific, ignore adverts. Especially in Jita local. Just search contracts yourself and mostly you will even find a better offer.
