They changed the UI framework, not the visual layer.
The new framework will make it easier to make UI improvements (which they've yet to do.)

Too many people didn't like ti and it was a bit buggy and it was dropped after testing on SiSi
But yes they changed the frame work too, that was Carbon UI, it had no graphic changes really, it just cleaned out a lot of the underlying code that was making it difficult for devs to add or change things without breaking a lot of stuff...modifying the UI code before the CarbonUI changes must have been trying to do the equivalent of installing air conditioning vents into a Jenga building built on sand

Oh, ok.
But they should do something with the current UI. There should be SOME WAY to make it better. |

I figure that this winter is going to include a LOT of ship tweaking with some new effects and graphics, like the jump drive effects, thrown in for good measure. Any UI enhancements that aren't already planned I figure will end up in next summer's expansion.

The current one is full of bugs. Like Minimize and Close Buttons disappearing on click without it doing anything.
That carbon stuff has only made it worse.. I have yet to see anything good come from it. |
