I am praying that you just do not know the English language well enough to be able to form sentences using it well.
If you have been speaking it all your life, please, in the words of a famous pirate, unplug your keyboard and walk away, slowly.

bloodline does not matter.
1) learn the rules of engagement for high-sec space and low-sec-space so you know where best to attack people.
2) learn to use electronic warefare, missiles and all weapons.
3) shoot everybody.
there, you're now a pirate. ;)

find some people that have decent PVP ability if in frigates at least 6-10 of you.... go to a gate from empire to 0.0 thats a chokepoint.
camp there and kill anything thats goes in or out.... with webbers and warp scramblers you can then ransom the ship or pod for cash.

It sounds to me that having a pirate as a character can be a lot of fun and there is room for roleplaying I think.

being a pirate you will mostly just **** people off, killing someones battleship usually at best gets you an angry covo or email... the money is in the ransom's usually unless they have rare loot, expensive cargo or battleship weapons is at least worth something with a 1 mil per turret.

viva tuga, what has been said is what you should follow if you wish to pirate. get into a corp where you can be taught, one thing to remember is to not freeze up when you are on the end of a 1400mm, just keep your cool and you will do fine.. -----------------

loomy, these people have got it all wrong!
To be a real pirate, you need a cool hat, a peg leg, sash, and a Parrot!
Some purists prefer to use a patch too, but I find that it gets in the way of the targetting computer.
Anyway, when you have your pirate gear on, then you need a bottle of Captain Morgan's and a song in your heart! My personal favorite? "Sixteen men on a dead man's chest, Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum!" (then take a swig and say "AAAaaaarrrrgggg....")
Now that's what being a pirate is all about... Oh yeah...
If ECM is an act of aggression, why am I not on kill mails?

Convo some m0o people, like Sutty or someone. Tell them you are new to this pvp thing and want to join them because you worship them, then get an uninsured ship, any type, and go to a m0o camped system.
Jump in, let them gang you, wait 30 seconds and watch your ship go pooof.
You wont become a pirate, but at least Sutty will have some fun...

Edited by: Deadflip2 on 10/06/2004 11:00:26 idd recommend starting out with an alt in a bb (with a caldarian should take no longer then 1 week, 181,000 sp) then you can decide if you like it or not (if you dont you can easially go back to what you used to do), also you can gather some experience without treatning your own status in other peoples eyes, and with the wrecked sec system 1.0 space can become a luxery in a short amount of time. then if you enjoy it after a few weeks or even a month join with your main character and do the same with it, and allthough your alt should always stay in 0.1 and 0.4 ur main can go to even 0.0 becouse it should have the skills for it.
this might be a little drastic and unfair due to the use of alts, but where i went wrong trying everything out with my main, it might be wise for others to avoid the pure hattred and false accusing ive encouter these recent months. --- "this song reminds me of the girl i met on a schooltrip, she was really nice, and she really liked me. I would like to thank all of the people that helped me with my inquiry about pirates. I will give it a try and see how it turns out. One more thing does anybody know of any web sites that have information about the subject. I also have added all of those that helped me on my do not kill list all but one.

Ok... next step to became a pirate is to trash your "Do not kill list". You don't need friends, and you should get used to it to shoot at people you like.

How can I tell who I can or can not kill? Can I scan other peopleĘs ships? Is it possible to see your power VĘs they power? Or you just take your chances and hope for the best?

You can usually judge others just by the kind of ship they are flying. If the ship you want to attack is much larger than you, running would be good. Honestly, PvP will suck until you have a few skills unless you get into a pirate corp who is willing to help you out.

yes you can scan other peoples ships (use a ship scanner module) to see what weaopnes/modules they have on their ship.
you can also scan their cargo hold (use a cargo scanner module) if you want to see what items they might be carrying.
you can scramble/stasis their ship to stop it from warping and hold it hostage, you can demand ransom or you will destroy their ship or items i space.
but with experience you can pretty much jugdge at a glance how dangerous your opponent is based on ship type, start-date/age of char, employment history/corp by pulling up the info on them before a fight.
the npc cops protect all space 0.5 and higher, but you can fight as much as you want in 0.4 down to 0.0 space.
who to kill and who not to kill??? we are not joking when we say kill everyone. eve pirates kill everyone, even their friends. it is a sign of respect to gank your pirate buuddy and hang his corpse in your hanger;) so i hear...
