I was looking at the set of 4 navy/action ships in the eve store and the navy magathron is a) the right shape, b) unarmed, and most importantly c) the paint job is just wrong! It looks like some sort of army green camo paint, not the steel and black of the in game navy mega.
And doesn't the Fleet issue pest have rectangular wingy thinggies?
Who gave the briefing to the artist!!! (the skill is great, but they must have been miss-directed.)
Can we please get unpainted models?
PS, the Navy Apoc also looks wrong - where are the orange lights????
I can't comment on the raven or pest navy colours, but I am sure other owners can. Just wow :(
PPS on the up side the normal mega, while still unarmed, looks OK, and the plain apoc is acceptable, but I might still be temped to redo the paint to make it more gold than white.

LOLZORZ! I hope that is just a picture mix up. My god, if they are actually trying to sell a repainted Pest model as a FLEET ISSUE Temptest that is just incredibly sh*tty. |

This tells us that the group organising this have no EVE experience, probably working from just CAD files and a screen dump or two. It is "Fleet Issue Tempest" to most of us. :/
CCP is growing fast, but they should really try to keep the knowledge levels in their marketing division up to date....
I think I'll wait for an unpainted edition. They are beautiful models however badly the art directors fell short.

The Navy Raven seems to be the right paint job. Noticed the 'pest "sails"/wingy bits right away. And the Navy 'thron paint is all wrong
Not only that but adding insult to injury, I'd have to spend $500 USD to get the mission runner I fly (Navy Raven) and I probably couldn't even ebay the other three ships given the inaccuracies. I hope CCP gets a clue and offers the faction ships individually. Spending $125 for the ship I fly might be ok...spending $500 on (in effect) one ship is called "instant divorce"! LOL
Come on guys this is a great step forward just don't stop at 80%....finish off the other 20% by making the faction models accurate and individually available. |

I think the image name says it all: 'big_megathronTech2.jpg' for the mega model. Its actually supposed to be a kronos i guess |

From the Navy Mega paintjob I'd say these are the NPC fleet variants, not the player purchasable faction ships.
Does the NPC Fleet Tempest actually have non-standard sails? |

Exactly. He mentioned China, not the Asian race. So, not racist (though possibly nationalist/ethnicist).

IF you study them carefully you'll see apart from every paintjob being very obviously different apart from say the standard Megathron and maybe the standard Raven. The details on the ship are different too, some pertruding parts of the hull are missing in cases, or the plating detail has been simplified in most cases. |

Well, isn't that the paint job used for Navy Mega's in missions? Atleast the Navy Vexor is that greeny colour. But meh, still looks pretty awesome. |

looking at the pictures, it actually looks like the the raven and mega have some little hole sorta things where you can snap in some guns. The raven has them on the tips of its wings where the guns normally appear (if you fit them :/) and the mega has them on those protruding midsection points where 2 guns go on each side. |

i've been saying what the OP's been saying all along. That navy mega isnt a navy mega at all. Its got the camo job of a CNR, which disgusts me. I'll save the money and buy a regular megathron (already have) and pass it off as a navy mega, after all it looks close enough.

Wow - I was unaware (until now) that CCP has actually begun to sell models - it's about freaking time  .
I am waiting for a Dragonfly model still, however.

Navy NPC megathrons have the same markings as a player mega but in an orang-ish colour as i recall. Specialised versions such as Navy Orions are slightly different.
