Last we heard was Q1 2008.
We're now in Q3 and we haven't heard anything new. Premium content does run under wine, but it's not stable. At least, not for me. |

Premium graphics run fairly well in wine, if you have a NVidia card. The most up-to-date guide is here, I believe. |

Installed Wine & Premium-EVE with that guide. Currently (with the Premium graphics) the login screen lacks the planet in the background, only the explosions, the colours are a bit off (dark/light) and the lightbeams in the station are all black. The classic parts works just fine, a bit better than with Cedega.

If you are using version 1.0 (stable) of wine you won't be able to get the premium graphics to work on Fedora. Installing the rpms for wine then compiling the beta release from source premium runs at 93 fps on my system.

Completely disable both HDR and Shadows. Restart your client and re-activate HDR. That should fix the black lightning issues. (Shadows still don't work though)
Balance is important, but you will always adapt to changing circumstances and you don't whine about stuff you can't change. |

They announced a release date for an official premium graphics client: "after ambulation but before Duke Nukem Forever".

I'm using WINE 1.1.3 with OpenSUSE 11.0. With shadows turned off everything works great. I haven't tried EVE voice with it, yet.
My system AMD Athlon 6000+ X2 MSI K9N Platinum Mainboard 2 GB Ram 2x PNY Nvidia 8800GT 512MB SLI video cards
The only problem I have is turning on Shadows. It creates a transparent copy of my ships and stations, that offset. Its really annoying. So no shadows. Everything is great looking with the Premium Graphics.
I was forced to switch from the official client when Cedega upgraded their wrapper. It gave me a black screen after that.
I really wish CCP would talk to us about this stuff. Or even the Transgaming people. I really wonder what will happen when EVE upgrades to DirectX 10+
I am not surrounded. I'm in a target rich environment. |

Doomsday. I refuse to use windows, let alone Vista. Dx11 is coming for windows 7; this is getting worse every day... -- Eve Online Premium with Ubuntu 8.04 http://oldforums.eveonline.com/?a=topic&threadID |
