****ing google.
It took Mozilla ages to tell users that "IE IS WHY YOU ARE GETTING ****D IN THE BUTTS" and Google come along and go "lol, browser"... No doubt loads of people are going to go "OMG GOOGLE" and instantly think its the nuts.
I'll check it out, but no doubt it'll just be Googles bespoke little browser to put all of their products in one place.
I'm staying devout to the Fox, kthx.

Isn't it a little strange that people are devout to a piece of software? When it comes to home use there should be no reason to not switch to a superior program. I'm not saying FF is better than Chrome or vice versa. I switched from IE to FF around FF 1.1, and after 1.5 I left FF for Opera because FF had started to get too fat, but now I am back on FF with 3. |

I switched to Opera from Firefox for speed and stability but reading about the way Chrome runs pages as their own seperate processes (and other engineering features) I think I'll be switching again. EVE RELATED CONTENT |

It sounds pretty good actually, may be giving it a try. I just read through their comic about it, and I like the way they've thought about how they should do things. At the very least it will bring in some cool new ideas that will be copied to the other browsers soon. _____ Originally by: Ryan Scouse'UK Have you ever tryed to eat a sheep while its still alive?

I'm liking it, especially the speed. However, it's going to need to move along a little more in development/features before I can replace Firefox with it. Overall pretty impressed so far though.

Opera already has a spellchecker.
You can get one for Firefox as a plugin I think. You can also get a plugin for FF that does formatting in BBCode and/or HTML.
This one is nicer because it underlines words in red. EVE RELATED CONTENT |

Very sleek very sexy, and it is much faster, used to be a dead hard Firefox fan but it was really ****ing me off lately how sluggish it was getting (probably my PC's fault but whatever Chrome runs fine on it) -----------------

And one of the most advertised features already turns out to contain a bug.
I've tried Chrome for a bit now, figured I may as well see if the stuff I make at work is working in it, but for home useage I think I will keep firefox. Was very tempted a while back to switch to Opera for the massive speed increase (and lower memory footprint, though that is a worthless argument when you have 4GB memory imo). But the most important browser feature for home useage, the noscript addon for Firefox, is something no other browser so far brought a solution for. And I am entirely paranoid about forum links that manage to grab your passwords, which seem to be running rampart in other online games.

Opera can either turn off js completely, then enable it for specific sites using the site specific preferences, or turn it on for all sites and off for certain sites. Lots of prefs like that (plugins etc.) can be set in site specific prefs (right click on the web page, select "Edit Site Preferences...".

That's the same EULA clause from Dejanews / Google Groups I think.
According to Google it's their boilerplate text for their other products and got included by mistake.
They've edited it out and said it retroactively does not apply if you already downloaded. EVE RELATED CONTENT |
