I think the Sept. 2nd patch is complete right? I tried logging in shortly after 1700 GMT today on my Mac ( OS-X) and I got a dialog box saying connection failed and did I want to try removing something or other in the client and try again. I said yes and it did something and presented the login screen again. I then entered my normal login info and hit connect. It tried to connect but then popped a 'connection failed: incompatible version'.
I checked the client version in the lower left corner, it says: 5.10.58188. As far as I can tell from the Eve Online site, this is the new patch? I have the correct client installed for the Sept 2nd patch?
I am downloading the entire client from Eve Online now but I'm worried that I will lose character data if I do a fresh install. Is it safe to do this?
Please help a noob that has never been thru this patch process before.

Your post was made at 16:40:00. We still have 20 minutes.
Normally the client will automaticly direct you to download a patch when it is available.
When the patch has been finish you will see a new thread in the Information Portal for Patch Deployment Feedback instead of Deployment Discussion Thread.
If for any reason the server is late coming up, there will be likely be a stickied thread in General Discussion.

The new patch will be availleble when ccp thinks all is oke....so no the latsest patch on the eve site is still the old one.

As stated, a lot of people are failing to factor in daylight savings time adjustments. In relative terms, the patch *should* be done in about ten minutes (We'll be lucky!).
As for the versions, 58188 is the current (old) version. The 1.1 patch will bring us to 61817

my version is still not working, it's now 18:13 in finland so it's 16:15 gmt what's going on??
