And so the patch update continues. WTF they cant just say we'll be offline for 24 hours and give themselves time to do it properly rather than dashing our hopes against the rocks every hour or so I will never know.
But then when have CCP ever been noted for their common sense?

Do you really have nothing better to do than wait infront of a computer for a server to start up? Is your life really that meaningless? If it is then go watch tv or something.

i am currently sitting here, with my EVE patched to 1.1 (hehe!)
And i am watching the player count go up and down, and up and down - wheeee! - MAN this is fun!

I don't usually say this but i agree... Its getting quite annoying. All i want to do is log in change skill and see if i won an auction... Fat chance of that happening anytime soon.
*Note* I am on a long skill already but its not the one i want to be on.

I baked 3 cakes today, i had a nice relaxing bath and now i have to pack for my vacation. I want to start a 16d skill before i leave. So yes, i'm pounding my desk.

You're missing the point. Originally CCP said they would be done by 17:00 GMT. I like playing the game and I am usually online at 17:00 GMT, so at 17:00 GMT I am sitting there waiting for the game to be ready as CCP said it would.
Now, if CCP said, "We will be offline for 24 hours" then I would be back tomorrow at 17:00 GMT and if the game had restarted earlier than that, then fine.
The point which escaped your attention is that CCP said it would be ready and here I am waiting 3 hours past that time.
If I knew there was gonna be 3 extra hours then I would be doing something other than sitting here waiting until 20:00 gmt.
But, sorry. I forgot there are people on this forum that love the game so much they probably have a picture of a megathron in their wallet in place of their kids and will defend eve at all costs because if you attack eve you are attacking their ego's which are intimately entwined with the game.
