Ok, so I've been meaning to mention this for awhile to see if it was just me.
I can fly state of the art space ships al over the universe... BUT, apparently when I'm about to set up a state of the art (and potentially very expensive) planetary harvesting device, scanning down minerals to within an inch of precision...presumably having massive impact on the ecosystem.. interacting with a customs office who's whole existence is about the planet below...
I can't see a statistic-based scan result to give me critical industrial related numbers that impact my decision making. What I have is essentially a picture scan result that lets me see a button image. ... and I have to spinny the planet picture and count them by hand?!? Have the guys in the very expensive customs office in a geosynch orbit been sleeping or staring into space? They can't know anything valuable about the planet?
SO basically, i'm fishing .... in the dark... hoping I picked a good planet. Are you kidding me?
Dumb.
Hasn't anyone else wanted to see average metric kilotons of product on the planet in increments (24hrs / 7day / 30day)? With a line graph we could then look for spikes indicating harvesting action? Average number of other player bases in 24 / 7 / 30? Average type of export (we are paying taxes which does infer some public knowledge) in 24/730? Didn't Eve start as a spreadsheet type game?
If I stop a machine (or forget to reset) and come back a few days later, it would be good to see how many active(s) since I last looked. And the export is huge indicator of activity (are the x number of other players on the planet doing short run or long run... or have they forgotten and just left them idle?)
Also: which guy gets the reward for choosing a white colour (high density / concentration) while also programming the diameter indicator of your harvester white. *knocks on monitor*... hello? Really? Seriously?
My eyes hurt from the squint.

Wow what a help that would be. Such a small modification would make PI alot easier on the eyes.
The Dev's are so badass in EVE. I don't know with any certainty that it will ever be implemented but I do KNOW that this will be read by a DEV of at the very least considered because thats how much they care about our Universe. I just hope that ungratefuland and rude pilots like yourself don't wear them down in the long run.
Eve seeks more feedback than any major game EVER created btw. |

As a side note,
Planet Interaction, (PI), is still fairly new in the EVE-verse. As such, many of the items common in other EVE economy areas have not been implemented, ie courier contracts to/from Customs Offices.
If you have some ideas to mature this area of EVE, please locate the Dev's blog and submit them.
Personally, I rather enjoyed the "exploration phase" of setting up colonies. I also understand that is my style of play and therefore not for the majority of the players.
Welcome and good luck in your PI endeavors. |
