Valk79 Caldari Guiding Star Phoenix Rising Alliance	Posted - 2008.09.03 08:02:00 - [1] Well ever since Harper's danger clone payed me 10 Million ISK to POD Harper. I have so far made one attempt at the poding it ended up going horibly wrong. My ship A Caldari destroyer ended up getting blown out of the sky by drone no less. Now I will be spending my time reserching skills so i can get myself into a decent ship and be able to ambush Harper and POD him to complete the contract that i was payed to do. This blog will follow my adventures to that end the choices im making to POD Harper once and for all for Danger Clone. Pictures to follow from first attempt where i got blown up. Try to make friends with this Harper fellow, join his corp even, or at least lure him into a situation in which he can be podded. You can't kill his cruiser with your destroyer, but if you can trick him into coming out of the station in a pod for some reason, a destroyer is about the most perfect ship for popping it. Maybe tell him you see a Vexor in an asteroid belt, abandoned without a pilot. Tell him that you want it but don't have the skills for a Vexor... would he mind boarding it and taking it to the station for you? Then you get him in the asteroid belt (no 30 second re-dock timer like at a station) and you get him to pause for a few seconds thinking "what the he-?" which is time enough to lock and warp scramble. Obviously since he knows you're his enemy, you may want to get a friend of his to work as your accomplice...

Old age and skillpoints are no match for youth and treachery, I think it was Confucius who said that. Never stab a man in the front. Remember, if he's an old character, he's going to know better than to sit around for a few seconds after you blow up his ship. He's going to instantly warp away with his pod before you can lock him. That's why I suggest harnessing the power of the "huh???" moment. Either that or use a battleship with a whole lot of smartbombs going off.

My corporation has a Rorqual with a clone vat that gets driven on occasional weekends giving out jump clones to folks. Kind of like the ice cream man. I was a little nervous about making a jump clone. But Digitup assured me that my clone wouldn't be evil and wouldn't try to kill me. He was wrong. DANGER CLONE was created to do all the dangerous stuff in 0.0 that I do as a tourist. Then he'd jump back to my body and I could blog the experiences. However, DANGER CLONE got kind of resentful about being the suicide monkey and has been plotting a way to eliminate or replace me ever since. He paid Valk79 10mil up front to pod me, with 10mil after the job was done. How would this work? Wouldn't I just come right back? Well, I have DANGER CLONE's memories, so I can tell you how the plot worked... DANGER CLONE moved our death clone to Friggi. He then went to the same station and jumped into Regular Me. I don't know what he did, but the jump left me kind of groggy and I had to read my own travel log to see what was up. He had scheduled a reader meet up at Friggi at 2000. Strange, but I decided to make the appointment. Lucky for me, Valk spilled the beans... Spilling the beans This jogged my memory enough to realize about the death clone and the hit. I decided that I really shouldn't be salvaging in a destroyer under these circumstances. I took the Dread Lecturer instead, my Navy Vexor. The rest is history. DANGER CLONE was foiled and I lived to tell the tale. I was tempted to clone jump into DANGER CLONE while at Friggi station, but I really wasn't sure who would emerge, me or DANGER CLONE. Now that the patch is in, you can't kill your own jump clone by jumping from the same station. DANGER CLONE will have to come up with something better than that. Its awfully hard to murder someone with all your memories. Hopefully this is the last we see of this plot.

Panzerkom Caldari	Posted - 2008.09.03 22:01:00 - [16] Valk, buddy. Just because you can fly a ship, doesn't mean you can FIGHT in it, especially when it comes to pvp. And Caldari ships are notoriously BAD at pvp, I think you might need some help if you really wanna pod Harper.

So right now im traing cruiser to level 3 from there i want to train it to level 4 and to train spaceship command from level 3 to level 4 From there I have some questions for you Since im focused on Caladri i'm curious should I train for BattleShips or Battle Cruisers Which one will be the greatest help for me on this long and dedious mission to POD Harper So the best respoce with the must reason for which ship i should train for will be the winner of 1 mil ISK for helping me out to Chose my next ship To Hell with the Torpedoes Give me Raming Speed

Moas, while easier on the skillpoints, are VERY tricky to fit right - and Ferox is a railboat. Caracal/Drake are missileboats, and generally can be fit for tank OR gank - not both. Both are somewhat limited in their midslots by the Caldari's need to shield-tank, and by the time (on a Caracal) you've fitted a scram/webber you're tank is just about nil. Drake does better in that regard - if you don't mind slow bricks with low DPS. If you wanted quick gank, a Gallente Thorax fitted with all blasters and a reasonable tank works well, as does a Vexor droneboat with mediums. Other than that - KNOW YOUR TARGET. What's he flying? Do you know what kind of resistances he may have? Do you know what weapons he uses - that'll tell you what to tank against? Does he scram/web? Does he use drones? Etc, etc - intel is a key to victory, and I don't have enough to be able to judge for 1v1. 'Course, i don't have the kill contract either :)
