Tamaara Amarr Ahkentari	Posted - 2008.09.03 15:40:00 - [1] I've been taking a brief look at the stealth bombers and I'm a little puzzled by the comparison between the racial variants. The Manticore has far and away the most cpu (260) but is tied for the worst pg (38). Despite the lowest pg it still seems to fit everything fine in the fittings I've played with. In contrast the Purifier has the worst cpu (230) with the best pg (45). This is where I get confused because I'm unable to find any fitting that takes advantage of all that pg because mods that use a significant amount of grid use a good chunk of cpu as well. It's not like there is enough grid to fit medium sized mods (and it already uses battleship sized weapons anyway.) The Purifier also has the best capacitor, but for ships that are built for hit & fade tactics how useful is that? I am just a bit stumped on how best to leverage the strong points of the Purifier. Any ideas?
Jennae Gallente LiveTech	Posted - 2008.09.03 15:50:00 - [2] Yeah. I understand your logic completely, look at the hound too! the manticore is by far the best SB, and the Nemesis just behind it. If you need to use your mids for sensor damps, just find a cheap domination cruise launcher (SAVES TONS OF CPU) and toss it on there. Then you can fit 2 dmg mods, and damps on the mids. J and for that matter, look at the claw :) lock range recessitates autocannons, but 2 mids for no web.. hmm. and the capacitors are weak and it's the heaviest

The Purifier fits a MWD easily and can also be plated so it won't be instapopped as easily (I saw many funny killmails where two untanked bombers insta popped each others) -- I'm done whining about AFs, it looks like they are making them right \o/

Yeah, if you don't use a bomb you're better off not using a plate. When it comes to bombers you're generally looking for lots of CPU. PG doesn't matter so much. Especially since your tank is all ewar.

Emperor Ryan Amarr Imperial Syndicate Forces	Posted - 2008.09.03 21:21:00 - [10] Not Going to Give out my win Setup but i can tell you what i use it for, and why its great, first of, the slot layout's are perfect.secondly for the use of mine, low sec 0.0 use, I dont have to worry about cost, i use faction fittings, ammo etc, never come close to losing the ship, allows me to use 2 bcu's facton fit, an overdrive, if wanted, or plating and meds how you like. i use the ship with missle speed rigs, since it boosts range and missle speed well beyond 8kms :) So. imo flying all 4 SB's i prefer the Purifyer over all + the Damage type is win
