I have read that it gives 8.75% standing to the faction of your choosing at the end. is that based off of 0.00 standing or what you currently have?
Also will completing this EPIC arc net me negative standing with the opposing empire? AKA choosing minmatar will give negative standing for amarr. "Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn" |

+8.75% standing gain is with max Social skills trained. The base amount of standing is +7.00%. The percentage amount added is based on the total amount left between your current standing and +10.00 standing.
The Epic Arcs will give very little to no derived standings towards the other Factions.

I've run SOE epic arc and Amarr epic arc so far and there was no derived standing for any other faction in either case. |

The standings boost depends on which arm you choose for the last mission(s), and the 8.75% (or whatever) is based on the difference between your current standings and the highest possible ten standings.
I think it goes something like this: - If your current standing is 0.00 an 8.75% boost will leave you with 0.875 standings ... a rise of 0.875 (8.75% * [10.00 - 0.00]); - If your current standing is +7.0 an 8.75% boost will give you an additional 0.2625 for +7.26.

I've done seven of the eight arcs, each on one or more occasion, and am about to embark on the eighth ... and one of the great things about them is the relative absence of derived standings changes, especially losses. Your faction standings boosts are pretty well all positive and they can be pretty large (e.g. +30% for pirate arcs). There are a couple of small standings losses from killing certain NPC ships ... at least in the angel pirate arc.
See you in Venal ... I'm heading in shortly on the guristas arc :-)

So is there an optimal standing for which i should run it. "Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn" |

No. It will just give you a bigger absolute (c.f. percentage) standings boost if your current standings are lower.
Another good thing about the arcs is that you can do them again and again, providing you wait the required 3-months before restarting. |

This includes all of them? Blood stained stars as well? "Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn" |

I believe so, although I haven't tried that one a second time.

Yes, blood-stained stars as well. I've run it three times now on the same character. |
