What does "Tanked" mean?
What is an "OP?"
What's "Popped?"
There are so many EVE words that I keep coming across, and I don't know what they mean.
A tanked Rift popped an OP. To a new comer this makes no sense.

Tank - just like any other MMO it refers to the amount/type of damage that can be absorbed/avoided/negated. Unlike other MMOs it's a bit more difficult to dedicate one person to being the tank, so in this game it refers to your specific ability to mitigate damage. A PLATE tanked rifter is a rifter with an armor plate to increase the amount of damage it can take. A SPEED tanked rifter is a rifter that avoids damage by moving faster than the aggressor's turret tracking speed/missile explosion velocity/all kinds of other technospeak-mumbo-jumbo.

I agree Eve needs a Clif-notes for abbreviations and the like.
OP? you likely mean operation... 'popped' just means destroyed, tanked usually means hardened against damage type(s) in either shield, armour in combination with active or passive repairing (or just lots of hitpoints as a non repaired buffer).
Can I suggest you look up joining a 'Training' corp like Eve University? They'll teach you all the basics and a whole lot more...

Thanks a lot everyone. Now I hope I can POP some people, and LIGHT THEM UP in my TANKED Brutix. EVE-speak made easy.
