Apologies for typos in advance - I'm watching the Packers Game.
Missions COULD be made more interesting by having different things occur during missions, the trigger ship was an interesting idea, but it could be taken further by adding on events for using particular items or heck even ships. Bring in a Caldari Navy Raven and that triggers reinforcements (okay I don't have one, but it's just an example).
While I would like the missions to be more interesting I feel they are a way of making ISK, usually a pure combat character' only means of doing so in empire, or they just sit in the belt farming up the 1.5m spawns. I know I'd prefer a good story with an arc to the missions WHILE making money in a semi passive way.
Not as passive as mining of course, but almost.
So the question is this. Are missions there for entertainment value only or is it the main isk faucet available to every single character (I'm including courier missions too btw)?
Now I suppose there are even two polar opposite mission runners. Those that mission purely to fund their pvp/low sec mining/research (sorry, I can't believe they didn't call a flag on GB#31), pos stuff in empire. And the other side that missions all the time for the same few agents to get the LP points, salvage, isk, t1 modules to refine, named mods to sell and so on.
Everyone is playing their own style and I won't tell anyone how to play Eve. I've been playing for too long not to realize that no matter how it's dressed up some people want to play differently and the least I can do is spend a few hours/weeks training up to do something different or new. The added bonus is I don't get bored. I may have a few heart tremors during a pvp encounter (when on a mission you don't ever expect to lose a ship) and I certainly don't enjoy it as a rule, but I respect those that have made it a full time passion.
In the meantime if you need t1 mods for a throwaway cruiser or ammo/missiles or drones just drop me a line.
Sidrat. This post is my own and nothing to do with the corporation I belong to this week.
