Maybe not the same crew, Im sure they moved on to better things in life. Although they did a good job and made EVE interesting. Pluss I believe CCP seem a bit closer to the public.

Id be rather interested to find out what the cost of producing a weekly episode was. I mean if it wasnt that bad and could be brought back by raising sub fees by say 50 cents an account or something id be willing to take the price increase.
I recall a few guys tried to carry on, but in the end it fell apart due to non commitment it seemed. -------------------------------- To borrow a phrase:
Players who post are like stars, there are bright ones and those who are dim.

Then again maybe they would be better off without. I'm not sure maybe it's a lot like how the corporation are ran in game
But the idea behind it is good!

Although it wasn't bad idea I am not sure why people in EVE can't come up with their own presentation.
BOB or some huge alliance - should have tried their hands at it. Giving news, spotlights, EVE Recent attacks.
Well maybe nobody wants to be on spotlight

I sure hope that is opt in. While I appreciate that some people enjoyed EveTV, I for one never found it worth my while. I did watch it once for a tourney and two of their weekly episodes, it just wasnt something I cared about, at all. --

It think it died due to it's buisness model. It used a pay per viewing format. On top of that, just to set up so a person could view the material was a pain in the but. I for one was not willing to dig through all that hastle just for a mediocre 'news' broadcast.
They needed to use a traditional 'Comercial' Format. Even "House" and "Hero's" are shown for free and have corporate advertising sponsors.
The second thing that drove me bonkers, is that there was very, very little RP or background flavor to the actual format of the show. We log on to be entertained, not to have the latest and greatest wine or feature of the forums to be regurgitated back to us, only this time in full AV appreciation.
I say they should have kept the news, and put in entertainment segments. Run the format like the -old- supermario brothers cartoons. Where you had two hosts that would do some silly skits for about 10 minutes of every half hour (this would be your news broadcasts) and then you would have 13 minutes of entertainment. You could use artwork and do audio shortstories in pannel format. There are a lot of flash arsist who do full comic pages (they draw the comics) do quality voice over, and post it ever two weeks, and sometimes every two weeks.
Take those eve chronicals and give em a voice I say. Let advertising pay for it, and watch the viewer base flock in, cuz they don't have to pay for it, are entertained, and get to hear about snippits about the game they might have otherwise missed.

Actually, no, it wasn't. They were running through an incremental-billing service called Jalipo. A monthly fee would have been fine, perhaps billed though the same service as your regular account billing. I would have paid five dollars or five euros without blinking. But pay-per-view? That was the most stupid and offensive way they could have done it.
IMNSHO, the best way to fund it would have been through the google model: understated, non-obnoxious ads over to the side. Spiral Junkie said that this was a problem because people protested against the ads placed by ISK sellers. I'm not un-sympathetic to that. Old-style embedded commercials would have been a tolerable alternative, but compared to incremental billing, almost anything would have been a tolerable alternative.

Initially it was pay per view but then it moved to a free service.
I thought the news information was okay but the general sitting around and chatting about stuff was patchy in the quality of content and delivery.

EVE TV was a good thing.
It was also something that only EVE had - so must have been good for advertisement.. And the crew was fine. Doing that is not as easy as it looks.
Damn armchair TV anchors here. --- Save the forum: Think before you post. ISK BUYER = LOOSER EVE TV- Bring it back!

Arm chair producers work only in hind sight. It was breaking the mold and a good shot. I want to see them give it another go personally as I said, but they need to make it entertaining, not just news-ish.

They made it free towards the end.
The presenters were OK :(
The thing I'd have liked to have seen more of was explanations of what stuff meant. I liked that "History of 0.0" article they did. As a nubbins it gave me some kind of framework for what they were on about.
The news section was a tad confusing.
Maybe it could work as a feature on Gametrailers or something? EVE RELATED CONTENT |

Okay, so they made it free towards the end. And my current ignorance proves a simple probability - it was too little too late. The network they tied themselves to, I believe, was their downfall. In my opinion the interface was unwieldy and difficult to navigate, and I didn't want to spend my time or money trying to learn a system for information I can get by quietly trolling the forums. Since no 'new' information was being presented, the hastle did not match up to the information, or entertainment it provided.
The pay-per-view was the biggest error in the whole scheme and it turned off so many people that when they finally relized what happened they turned it off in an attempt to re-bolster intrests. I, however, failed to hear about the switch in formating and was unable to take a second look at it. They lost too many people.
I hope CCP doesn't chalk this one up as "Nice attempt, but never do that again." And instead say, "Well try again, once we can make it more universal."
Think of how cool it would be to tune in once a week, or every two weeks and get cool news and tips, and get to tune into a "Battlestar-Babalon 5" esq minisearies. Id sit through tampon commercials and hemriod cream endorsements if it means that the Federation President gets to come to life and discuss strategy, love, and betrayal all in nice 800X600 audio visual glory.
It was good, it was just flawed.

I've got to say that Eve was at it's coolest while Eve-TV was running. I would confront the WoW-ites in the hallways at work and shout, "Does your MMO have it's own TV show? No? Where's your god now, Biiiiiiatch??".
Ok, I never really said that. But I might have if THE MAN hadn't canceled it.
I'm still waiting on that phone call, Spiral. Really. I'm not a stalker...

I've heard about EVE TV & EVE Radio
I never knew what either of them were, and had not clue that EVE TV was gone.
What was EVE TV?
What is EVE Radio and is it gone too?
