Does anyone have an EXACT time on how long a jetcan will remain b4 it pops?, all I can find in the stickies and resource threads are estimations. Srry if I missed it. ----- ----- Anticipation of Death is Worse than Death Itself, But Gankers Suk!! |

the exact time is 60-120 minutes. There is a added variable of 60 minutes. I did some searching after watching a can explode about 5 second before I could get my ore out.
To be safe, only bet on 60 min.

Edited by: Verena Intrefer on 06/09/2008 18:03:32 Last time I heard about it, which was a while ago, the word was that the system works so that the servers run a check for all cans and similar items at regular intervals, and if a can's age is less than the "kill value" it will be safe until the next check.
So, there are no exact numbers... if the timer is 60 minutes and check happens every hour a container that is checked when it is 59 minutes old will hast one hour 59 minutes.
But as I said, that's old info.
Edit for small tip: Unless you aren't doing it already, naming your cans with the time you jettisoned them makes it easier to keep track of the time. :)

No one does sorry, they're destroyed when a cleanup process is run which can be as soon as 60 minutes after they were created, or much much longer (I had one last 14 hours and through a downtime). The more people active, the less time they will last. Guarantee is 60 minutes, so if you keep it under that you will be fine.

More on this, if I find myself not able to pick up that can before the hours rolls by, I'll make a new can and switch everything into it to avoid the old expiring. Hope this helps.
