I have mixed opinions on that. I do think it'd be fun though.
At the same time it leads to extremely easy ganks, and I will probably be one of the first to lose a cap ship when I undock for a cyno.. meh.
I don't know!

im so-so on this.
some things would be nice, but others...not so nice. It would take away 1 tool that smaller gangs can use agaisnt larger gangs on stations. So I am agaisnt it.

While much of Eve combat is poor, dock/undock games are some of the worst.
Just kick everyone way out of undock range, but have some sort of basic grid scanner as a station module, only scanning the station grid.
Make undocking a commitment.

YES. Also increase the redocking timer. I hate having to bring 5+ BS to kill one station hugger.

Its not so much that stations should be made into kickers, more that the undock bubble should follow the contors of the station more accuratly.

I'll accept being undocked out of redocking range when ships undock cloaked like they are when they arrive on the other side of a stargate jump.
I've already lost ships in "empty" lowsec systems because in the time it took me to undock (you know, when the docking bay fades to black and you just sit there staring at blackness), the pirates from the next system over have jumped in, warped to my station, locked onto my ship and blown it up.

While I agree with the spirit of what you're proposing, in practice all that would happen is that everyone who's really concerned about not being able to redock would just make a 1000+km insta-undock BM and nothing would change.
Never underestimate the ability of those who don't want to fight to avoid getting shot in this game. ---

Sure, as soon as stations have windows that you can, you know, look out of and see how many people are camping you in. __________________________________

tbh I like it that only some stations do this. Knowing which stations do this rewards local knowledge.

There is one in fountian with a radius of at least (this is no overstatement) 65km. I was 85k from the undocking zone and still only 3000m out of the docking radius, could have been the way I moved across the station. But this station is amlost impossible to bump people off, I've never seen it's like.
Un-Dock. Shoot. De-agress. Dock. Rinse. Repeat. Lame.
And if you do manage to bump by some divine bit of chance, the pansies self-destruct....

For a few weeks maybe. Then nobody would have any ships left...
...or stations to dock in...

It is more of a connect+server design. People on the grid are informed about a new ship before the ship has loaded for the player. On a good connection the window is small but on lagged systems or less then stellar internet connections it can be quite a gap.
Ideally the ship would not pop until the client confirms that it received the new grid info, but then you have to worry about people altering the client to delay sending the ACK.
