Which cruiser rats in empire space give hte best loot? Angel, Serpentis, Guristas, or Blood Raiders?
I was fighting Serpentis rats before and they suck, the Angel rats seem to give some good stuff like malkuth heavy launchers and named MWD's, havent check the Guristas and Blood Raiders yet though. ................. |

I'm relatively new... but I used to do serpentis heavily as well, (out of circumstance...) and I've more recently tried doing some hunting in caldari space, and these guristas seem to drop signifigantly better stuff. I've gotten a Scout 250mm, 2 malkuth assault launchers, a Limos Standard, some letter-number named assault launcher... got a named smartbomb too, alot more medium size stuff on those cruisers, where the best I've gotten from a serpentis cruiser is like a medium blaster of some form. (essentially useless to me, where that scout 250 was on in 5 minutes) not tried the others yet.
though I would say that the missile bearing guristas(nearly all of em) are a helluva lot different fight than the serpentis.

I would say Guristas as well. Off of Guristas (30k-35k) I have seen drop: Arbalest Launchers/Malkuth Launchers/Named sheild boosters/named cap injectors/named hybrid rails and many more named things.
But it seems to me that Blood Raiders drop more armor/hull upgrades (like cargo expanders) and more sheild hardners than Guristas. I haven't hunted Angels for awhile, so i can't compare to em'.
Always hit the big red button whenever you get the chance.

in my experience you loot this from high end angel rats:
angels (55K - 750K+): AB's, MWD's, overdrives, basic expanders (no rares), all kinds of projectile guns, cap batteries, ECM and ECCM mods (mostly minmatar related), hardners, shield boosters, tracking mods, ddamage mods, shield extenders, all kinds of lowslots flux coils and reactors and general ****.. And lots and lots of ammo. Also you will find the useless nanofibers, inertial stabs, bulkheads and stuff like that. Also a good deal of launcehrs , but only malkuth and limoss heavies, sieges i dotn know about, only found malkuth siege on the BS so far.
in general its seems to be like this: angels: speed and projectile/ minor launcher related loot sansha/blood: armor and laser related loot serpentis: hybrid related loot gurista: launcher related and minor hybrid related
So in general you know what to expect, and they all give crappy stuff too.
the crappy stuff is actualy quite decent if you get it in bulk. I could prbabaly get one free BS per month out of the minerals i could refine from the crap i can find on my own if i would hunt fulltime.

I suspect that loot will always be better in another empire to encourage people to explore.
Example: Angels in Min republic space drop okay loot to Mins, but better on average loot to Caldari...
I dunno if this is even remotely accurate, but it is possible. ____________ Sex / Rank 9 / SP: 1280 of 2304000

Lots of
Armor repairers, armor upgrades, lasers and smartbombs named cap injecters and capaciters biggest launcher is arbalast heavy so far i have found and angel ship logs
CA frigate rats seem to drop 425 rails and Xr 3200 missile bays that might help also.

Edited by: Draaken on 14/06/2004 02:48:57 Guristas CR rats have dropped nice loot for me, Malkuth heavy launchers, about 10 250mm Scouts, even a Supplemental Scanning CPU (which I unfortunately lost when I tried to take on 2 Mortifiers and a Terrorist in my Moa, too bad ), but it took me ages to get to the CR spawns, usually you start with FR spawns and kill them over and over again. I've only had CR spawns right away on 2 occasions very early in the morning I think ... not sure if it was hour-based or if I was just lucky... _________________________ Ain't no mountain high enough |

NPC spawns are indeed best in the (eve-time) mornings.
this I assume has something to do with the small amount of people online at that moment somehow.
I can hunt for a BS spawn all night at UK evenings without finding one regularly (I hunt in one single system only with about 25 belts in it), but near the downtime I usually find one BS spawn in one of those belts right away.
Something about that is not right, but then again the players that play at time are shafted in most other rescpects anyway, with DT in the middle of their evening and such. _______________________________________________
