I was doing Blockade level three last night and failed to read the "How To" properly.
I bowled into the mission with my BS, blasted away at the rats, which very quickly bcame a missile fleet. This became problematic with the rats moving faster than the BS and all getting in range all at once, causing my shields to wither quickly under a hail of fire.
I tried to get one at a time, warping back to station to replenish the sheilds over and over...
After a couple of hours, I had developed a monomania about finishing it and was quite prepared to sit there till 2 in the morning if necessary.
Suddenly - up pops a convo box, who's this guy? "I've been watching you for quite a while, are you having trouble?"
He had been scanning down missioners and was sitting in a cov ops cloaked, prolly laughing his nuts off at me!
He offered to help, of course I accepted, he comes back in a mega tank Minmater BS and zaps seven shades of it out of the rats, thank you very much if you need me again...
Wow. He didn't even want the salvage.

What the heck is going on???
This is the 4th happy story I've seen on the forums today
Have we all become nice or something 
Pirates helping out their victims, what's next, a lagfree Eve?
Keep it up, it's nice to know that there are good people at least in our virtual world

blockade 3 is very challenging - I hadn't encountered it and in my domi i had to warp out, i was quite disappointed in myself!

First issue I'm seeing from many people is that your using the wrong damn ship. Step down to a BC for a mission that has pretty much frigs and cruisers. Drakes can sleep through that mission.

I was thinking this as well…
Battleships in L3 missions‽ Why‽
They don't tank much better than BCs, and unlike BCs, their weapons and sensors are crap against the kinds of enemies you encounter (unless you fit smaller weapons and sensor boosters, thereby removing any advantage in tanking and raw damage output).
Maybe if you're using an all-drones setup, but still… 
edit: now, doing the opposite — using BCs in L4s — is much more fun…

Yeh ah know.
But I like a challenge, I have an anti-frigate fit with a webber and autocannon that works well.
