well, my current subscription runs out in approximately 2 hours and isnt being renewed for 2 months (amarr carrier 5 trainng)
a former corporation of mine had just celebrated its 1 year anniversary and in a sort of looking back thread on the forums they posted the following about me
" Another mention goes to Azi, he motivated us to learn how to fly and build Caracals when Dark Tornado appeared, joined us, then promptly got drunk for 2 months. When he came back he seemed to have some kind of ever lasting hangover and proceeded to suicide a shit load of T2 ships and BS, the killboard is still reeling over that short but explosive period, Azi. "
makes me chuckle thinking about it, and a much fonder memory of the game than just popping pixels
ill be trying warhammer online after celebrating my 21st in vegas but like the much abused spouse i am, i know i will be back
<3 and yarrs

i would prefer it if my legacy went out with me eradicating the caldari race, for that is my long term goal, since FW has pretty much died unless CCP adds new content, i mean cmon, 58 kills for the galletne? we norammly got almost 300 when i was in it only a month ago, wtf happened?
so, i leave the FW to destroy the race that is caldari on my own accord, for that is my long term goal, and it IS how i will go out
then when i leave (lets ASSUME i will NEVER return to eve) i will go through all my most valuable assets, and distribute them through out gallente space or something, let them float in space for the month they are allowed to live, and broadcast it everywhere, so everyone knows, whoever finds it can have it, and thats how I will live on in the game, kinda like "national treasure"

Edited by: Dirk Magnum on 13/09/2008 04:25:10 Solid gold statue of both my RL self AND my full-body ambulation avatar (featuring feather boa, motorcycle helmet, and leather vest without an accompanying shirt), both standing roughly one hundred feet high and located on a massive pedestal out in Reykjavik harbor. Daily tours will be conducted from the small boat launch at the end of Saebraut near Hotel Cabin, which will be renamed Hotel Magnum. Both statues will point menacingly at CCP headquarters. As I believe that gold is too soft a metal to allow for building such colossal statues I would imagine that over time they would both devolve into ever more grotesque shapes. This will be as intended.
This will be my Eve legacy. I guarantee it tbh.

I notice no mention of pants. However, I notice mention of grotesque shapes. Is this also as intended?
Also, I agree, Crumplecorn's DesuSigLegacy will never die. Best sigs evar tbh.

Which rotates itself to point menacingly at any player on-grid with it. The more players, the more arms that point, until Sousei Seki resembles more of a Lovecraftian horror than an animated doll.

Of the people I've met and influenced I'd say 25% will remember me fondly as someone with a sense of humor who was fun if not effective in his fightin methods and the other 75% will remember me as a heartless ****er and be glad im gone
Rough estimate anyway, overall I dont think I've made much impact in the game itself but a good impact on a number of players I've been invloved with one way or another, most anyone can ask for I guess -----------------

Those who read the forums (obviously a completely different group than those who play the game) will remember me as a forum wh*re who had WAAAYYYY too much time on his hands.
Those who knew me in game, at least those who knew me two years ago, knew me as a teacher in a training corp who would gather gangs of 20+ frigates, with pilots all trained under three months, and attack mercs who had declared wars on us. Or giving classes. Both were fun as heck
It was nice to come back, talk to one of their new guys, and be like 'Dude, I've HEARD of you!' Talk about an ego boost

I didn't spend my time in game trying to earn the approval of others and there is only a very few I saw eye to eye with, more than most of them earned my respect and rightly I don't care what others than them think of me be it good or ill.
I will be back eventually but I doubt I'll care then as much as I do now what others think of me, I always intended to make a place for myself and anyone else willing to stick it out with me by stealth or force whenever necissary and that won't change.

So yeah do not want. Since I'm a unknown noob I do not get either \o/

As a man with so much potential that used up too much time and effort in a digital world rather than the one in which he lived... or do you mean how will I be remembered in Eve? I still have yet to start writing that legacy.

Edited by: Bertie on 13/09/2008 21:24:44 You won't be remembered for more than a few months if you're lucky. Sad but true.
I've played since '03 and left 3 or 4 times, and been reknowned at times for:
- Running the first 15+ POS empire corp when POS's first launched - Running the very first T2 Component Shop selling all 36 components, at the time servicing about 20% of EVE's comp needs - As a result of the above and some other stuff being pretty darn high in the EVE Rich List at times
Ah the good old days... The truth is that the player turnover rate in EVE is pretty high, so although you may be known to a decent proportion of the playerbase at a certain time, within 6 months no-one will remember your name.
Sad but true.

Edited by: fairimear on 13/09/2008 22:59:23 I take it you mean in eve. Well its simple. you wont be.
losing a titan. Stealing 100bill. leading a 1000 man fleet. They are all things that should deserve note but dont. EVE IS NOW COOKIE CUTTER. Everything possible in eve is done 24/7 by every one.
4 years ago we had crap like tyraxx in a 1 of a kind ship dyeing. Alliances were rare and amazing things managed by standings alone. Camping a system for 24 hours was A achievement. Jove came to Visit us. Devs came into TQ in jove ships and got shot at now and then. Tank CEO was the most notorious player to fly the space lanes. A myth in his own time. like the boogie man his existence and story's of his piracy scared newblets from ever entering 0.0.
To Quote the words of the I mortal Jack sparrow "The worlds the same mate. Theres just less in it"
immortality is out of our grasp i am afraid. Even killing a titan in a lone hictor would only gain the Titan pilot notoriety of being EVE's biggest nub and probably make him quit any way. You would get no boons for it.
