Hi all,
I have been playing about 7 months or so, and after doing some general skilling, switched to an int/mem remap to build up my core skills, before switching to per/will to build up my gunnery and spaceship command. My eveboard is: http://eveboard.com/pilot/Melodic_Blue
I will at a minimum finish Shield Upgrades (to V), Shield Compensation (to V), High Speed Manouvering (to IV) before switching to per/will.
My intention with the current int/mem remap is to make sure I have the support skills to use pretty much any T2 module I find necessary for:
(1) PVE in minmatar/angel frigs/cruisers/BS - mostly missions, but like to dabble in exploration and want to play around with Wormholes too (2) PVP in minmatar frigs/cruisers - mostly defensive - I want to be able to do my PVE in low/null/WHs and be able to sneak around/avoid fights when necessary/fight when I want to
I don't have loads of time to play, and play mostly solo.
I currently mostly fly my rifter, dramiel, hurricane, maestrom and machariel. Am considering buying a loki for my exploration/WH forays. Am also keen to play around with covert ops and recon ships.
My questions:
Are there any serious int/mem deficiencies I should address before switching to per/will? (I am desparate to get my T2 projectiles and a few more ship options available!)
Are there any other ships I might consider looking at for the kind of things I want to do? (I am minded not to go the Tengu route...)
Thanks for reading (if you made it this far) |

Go for tengu, get int\mem subsystems to 5, scanning skills to 4, relevant rigging skills to 4. |

Skip Shield Compensation. 4 is enough.
Get at least Projectile Rigging to 4 and consider Shield Rigging -- perhaps even Astronautics Rigging -- to 4.
Get scanning skills to 4s except Acquisition which is a fairly low payoff. If you're at all serious about exploration, strongly consider Astrometrics to 5 for Deep Space Probes, 8 probes in space, etc.
I'd consider just knocking out Cybernetics at this point as well, but it isn't critical.
Shield comps to 4 may serve you well but again, aren't entirely critical.
Cloaking 4 is an absolute must for covops cloaks. There's not point in flying a ship capable of fitting one without.
Otherwise, it looks like you're on the right track.
Edit: oh, and knock out your int/mem subs to 5 right now too. They're rank 1, but you might as well get them done before you remap. |

Cloaking 4 is also quick and will allow you to use the covert ops cloaks since you are keen to fly covops/recon.
Thermodynamics to 4 is also only a short train for reasonable added benefit.
Signature Analysis to 5 isn't long to get as it's rank 1 and faster locking will help in larger ships.
And as the above poster said, if you are going to be dabbling in WHs, scanning skills to 4 will certainly help. |

Thank you very much Vito, Zhilia (for especially useful info) and Greg for your useful replies - which seem consistent with each other!
So - I'll skip Shield Compensation V, but add:
Subsystems to V Scan skills to IV Cloaking IV Sig Analysis V Thermodynamics IV Projectile Rigging IV Shield Rigging IV
and then consider:
Astrometrics V Astronautics Rigging IV Shield Comps to IV Cybernetics V |

The others gave you good advices, dont bother with astro and cybernetics to 5 atm, lvl 4 is enough , also dont forget that if you want to run around in WH, having a set of +5 plugged in is risky business....
Dont forget to train repair systems to 5 while you re at it, its only rank 1 and its a good skill to have at 5 anyway. Also training a bit more in the drones department migh tnot be a bad idea especially if you fly matari ships, train those drones support skills to 4 ( drones nav, drones combat op, drones interfacing and durability )
Otherwise, you re good in int/mem.

If the OP is int-heavy and remapping to per-heavy, it might actually be better to hold off on the mem/per drone skills (by a bit) until AFTER the remap. Still, there's not so much of a difference there... |

Some of the subsystems skills use mem-int (I want to say electronics, engineering and defensive?), so you could save a day or two of training by hitting those up now, and then getting the Offensive subs and propulsion after you've remapped. |

Yes, electronics, engineering, and defensive are int/mem (not mem/int). You save about a day each doing them before a remap. |
