Probably not in the same capacity.
You know, if they took EVERY WoW Shard and stuck it on EVE's one server.
Be honest people, EVE lags like hell as it is. Let alone adding several million players onto it.

Or if they put eves playerbase on one wow server? Sounds full of win to me? -----------

was that meant to be a dig at EVE or something because he's got it completely backwards. The main EVE server would easily cope with the workload of one WoW Server, I'd like to see one WoW server cope with the work that ours does! Unless of course he's talking about ours doing the work of EVERY WoW server in which case it doesn't make sense, they can't manage a feat like that THEMSELVES, how many little servers do they have now?

No doubt there was a bit of lag outside the AH in Ironforge and someone from EVE blindly said;
"OMG, There wouldn't be lag like this in EVE"
How quickly we forget.

And what Benco said. I believe that when I played WoW, the average online population for the servers I played on was less then 5,000 at peak times and typically around 2,500, but maybe less. Here is a link from 2005 about WoW server population that someone mentions EVE and the thread gets derailed a slight bit

Would be nice to go to that forum in that link and update the stats and put them all to shame ;-)

It was beta and the servers were lagging like crazy. Someone brought up EVE and I said Blizzard should use EVE's server or something.
Then I got that comment, also another person called me an idiot because he said that EVE isn't 1 server. Then I had to explain to him that neither is WoW, its lagging like crazy but notice there is no chat lag.
Yes, I play WoW, only because I dont have to pay a subscription fee, perks of having a friend who works for blizzard (Former EVE player too).

WoWs chat runs seperately from the various realm servers, that makes cross-zone communications easier. (Guild chat, party chat and such). so while the realm servers (especially the one allocated to Northrend in the beta) are badly overloaded the chat system runs seperately and doesn't have any issues.
