Yes, thats right. Since I have not seen a thread like this on these forums before, I thought I'd see what your interest is in this.
Post screen shots of your desktop on your computer. Easiest way to do this is to use "print screen" button, paste into ms paint, save as jpg, and upload to imageshack.
To start, here is mine:

My current desktop. No icons, as they are untidy! I use Geoshell, a replacement for the Windows shell, which you can customise to your liking.
And, just because it took me about 15 minutes to dig up the last thread on desktops in which I originally posted this, here is my desktop with boobies on it.

Those are for two chars on different accounts. Those two accounts are for my FW alts, and they are fairly public knowledge. You will see those chars a lot if you keep your eye out.
My other chars/alts/accounts however were moved from my desktop before the screencap as was any other information that could potentially negatively effect me.
It was a nice thought though :)

Agreed, that pic is pretty amazing. Btw, it's not a combine, but yes, it is awesome.

The pic is made by a close friend of mine by the EVE name of Meridius (Although doesn't play anymore). All the original files of the pic are on my server here. I do believe CCP did want to hire him but he didn't/couldn't move to iceland? Not sure never talked to him about this, he also made an amazing EVE video. He does work for another big gaming company now.

Meh, I can't be bothered to upload a new piccie, so I'll just repost an old one from when someone else started a desktop thread in February.  That one is 'shopped rather heavily (no, really?!) to hide the incriminating stuff that, um, I don't have...
A few observations:
- The number of icons on my desktop has increased substantially, from 212 to a whooping 381. I guess I have to clean it up a bit soon or start using the secondary display, as there's only room for another 69 (2+ row if auto-aligned).
- I still use the same wallpaper, not that I ever see it except when booting up...
- I have fewer icons in the tray now, but more apps in the taskbar.
- The vast majority of the icons are files, not shortcuts.
Impressive, isn't it?

T'is le Windows Vista sidebar... with skilltraining countdowns, resource monitoring, weather and networking on it. Comes with Vista, all the gadgets on there are avaiable on the microsoft site.

I'll just link you to my wallpaper, that I, lazy as I am, simply downloaded the other day, because I just finished that game (finally  had to wait for a "proper" pc so I can enjoy it) and I miss that eerie feeling so much I had to get it on my screen. Somehow.
You dont need the icons and the taskbar. It's boring. (edit:and a mess from saturday to thursday)
maybe the fact that I have all my game links grouped in a folder that looks like a 3.5" floppy disc and I got EFT and calc.exe in my quick launch bar

Trust me this is tidy, ususally there are 5 other windows piled on screen 2, this is more or less its background. Yeah that is a huge amount of active processes, no it doesnt cause any trouble for me - explorer is bad for you mmkay ;)
