As I get the skills in order, I'm gradually building a Hyperion for PVP, and I'd like to run the fit by some experienced Gallente BS pilots.
This is what I'm thinking:
HIGHS: 8 Ions MIDS: MWD, Scram, Web, ECCM, Injector LOWS: DCU II, LAR II, 1600mm RT, 2x EANM II, MFS II
RIGS: 3x Trimarks
I know a lot of people would put rep time/amt rigs on this ship due to its bonus, but I was thinking I'd go for a happy medium between buffer/repping. I think that is achievable with this ship. The trimarks sort of take the place of a Slave set (b/c a Slave set + the rep time/amt rigs would be ideal).
What do you think?

If your hell bent on using it, i would always go for low, 2 x LAR, 2 x eamn 1 x exp hardner 1x DCU and dont use trimarks, use teh aux nano pump and nano accelerator. And active tanks are not really great for pvp, but it best uses teh bonuses.
While I think the hyperion is a great looking ship (I think one of my personal favourites)
The megathron has better DPS and the Domi out tanks it, and both are cheaper...

that's a good fit bro, did you just pick that up off battleclinic? one just like that was posted today. Your logic is good Imo about the trimarks and the repper. while the mega does more dps and the domi out tanks it.. the hype does both effectively and would beat either of them in a 1v1 (unless it's a neut domi) ;)

I put this fit together from some videos I've had for awhile and searching through old threads. I think with maxed skills this fit will be pretty beastly for small gang/solo work. I think that an Ion Hyperion (with good skills) will overpower a Neutron Blasterthron 1v1. But I'll also get into a Mega at some point. I've just been flying Thorax-style fits (DPS+buffer tank) for so long that I wanted to try something a little different in Battleships for awhile.

Hello,
That setup of yours is really good, although I would work better with the tanking bonus. So I do suggest that you fit 2x rep amount, and 1x rep time rig. That pushes your tank nicely above 400 dps, with only a single repairer.
Also keep in mind you only do have a single lowslot module you are able to overload. With termodynamics 4, that one repairer is able to run overloaded like 3 minutes. A great advantage.
Add some exile boosters, and there you go, you have a really really nice tank that can run for very long, and is cap efficient. --

Dont bother with an EXP hardener on an omnitank, stick with 2x EANM + dcu + 2x LAR and a magstab, you really want the extra DPS.
As for mids, fairly standard, web/scram/mwd/injector, last one could either be a second web or eccm IMO.
Rigs: 1x aux nano pump (no accelerators - your cap is already strained as it is) and 2x smc i'd say. --------------------------- sok alt - main got banzored |
