And Why not im pretty sure they will sell for more that 4.2 mill, and if it stops you buying, its a win/win
I once prayed to God for a bike, but quickly found out he didnt work that way...so I stole a bike and prayed for his forgiveness. |

Why play 0.01 ISK games?

Edited by: Kvander Godalming on 19/09/2008 16:01:01 From personal experience, when people undercut a margin by more than 0.01 ISK, they are doing it in the hopes that their competition will buy the item themselves, mark it up, and resell it. Basically adds to the pool of potential customers.
I do this sometimes when undercutting by more than 0.01 ISK on big-ticket items. If the lowest sell order for a Raven is 83 mil, I'll sell it for 80 mil.

Both tactics are sound and frequently used. They are non-skill related tools that traders use to gain control of the situation.
For instance:
0.01 isk game - causes frustration as it is seemingly daunting(especially when instituted right after a rival's price increase)
high jump - causes anxiety by cutting profit margins (especially handy when fat profits are available)
Kinda like special PvP fight moves... and in combination can be deadly... TRADEOOKEN!
Edit: both of these tactics are used in getting rid of the competition, as well as for other purposes.

I sometimes do it when I see that the other buy orders are for large numbers of items (and I only want a few). Buy placing a large delta, you force the other buy order owner to sequester large amounts of isk in escrow if they want to match your order. Frequently, they will *not* match my buy order (letting me get what I wanted).
