Look we all know that there is a major problem with jita. There is so much people on at one time doing god knows what and locking up the system. but i can bet you that 80% of those in jita are afk. Why do we not have a small code of program in the eve client or server side that kicks those that are afk for more than o lets say 15 or 20 min. we can also have a little box pop up with a 30 second warning letting you know that your afk and about to be kicked. I don't think it would hard to add something like this and would free up tuns of bandwith for the server. i don't know.... what do yall think.

Edited by: Batolemaeus on 20/09/2008 21:41:25 Right, kick those that do not put any significant load on the server. This will absolutely help with lag, right?
Right? The people who put load on the server are the ones doing things. Some dude docked and afk in jita 4-4 does not put any load on the actual node..
Honestly, put at least SOME effort before posting in F&I. There have been, literarily, hundreds of posts exactly like yours. No paragraphs, no deep analysis of the problem, not even a well thought out solution. And all about jita..

Might be a smarter idea to make 4-4 it's own seperate node... A bit ridiculous, I know, but I'm fairly certain that most people IN jita are in that particular station.
Another idea that I had today (as I sat in Jita for over an hour without anything at all loading on my screen...) was to move ALL agents out of system, implement a higher tax rate on all sell orders originating in system (say 5-10% as opposed to the current 1%), and GIVE US INTERBUS so people don't have to travel TO Jita in order to pick up their stuff....

Sadly you (and many others) reply to such threads, and when some analysis is done, and there is some proposal, most people are too lazy to read it, it gets no replies and it gets on page #15...
You vote about this when you bump a thread.

I think that Jita is already on its own node.

That should help a bit.
Quote: implement a higher tax rate on all sell orders originating in system (say 5-10% as opposed to the current 1%),
If this does anything, all it will do is move the major trade hub to a system other than Jita.
Quote: and GIVE US INTERBUS so people don't have to travel TO Jita in order to pick up their stuff....
Secure NPC cargo transport would spread out the load, which should be helpful. The problem comes in preventing this causing major disruption to traders. We can't make it too expensive, because then too many people won't use it. Allow people to rob the NPC transports and people will, while other people stick to current methods because they want to keep the items. So if either cost or security is used to prevent it screwing the economy, the transports won't get used and Jita's lag will remain.
So I'd suggest that while Interbus remains free (or at least cheap enough to be used), you can only use it when you buy an item from the market. And even then, you can only use it to move the item to a station that is closer to you (or your buy order) than the location of the sell order.
Naturally there would be a time delay for the goods to arrive based on the number of jumps.

Interbus would destroy the entire concept of eve as a large universe that takes time to travel.
Jita is fine, go during off peak hours. I rather enjoy seeing tons of freighters and industrials flying around, gives some scale to the game.
If you really, really want interbus... it should be implemented as a reward for running interbus missions and it should cost LP. It should never be free and it should never replace flying to jita for the majority of players.
