im sitting at work at 2am at a ramada inn (night audit to pay for college courses) and now some of the cops involved at staying with me. the officer killed was a neighbor of my girlfriend. she was like the supercop lady from fargo, a real good person, and the homeowner killed is like 2 miles from where i work (wich is 100 yards from where i live).
im glad they got the guy but man,f or a while there i was kinda nervous sitting here alone and defenseless in my hotel lobby. good thing i have a goodluck charm with me (an original "prowl" transformer!"). i know this thread is a little bit pointless but i need to vent cause this im a lil keyed up. hope to be home safe EVEing soon.

Really? You're supposed to use 'a' there? That sounds a lot harder to pronounce, silly english rules.
Oh, and you typed 3 'G's too many.

"An" is acceptable there, depending on your dialect and accent. Not really in standard English, though. ------

As far as the distinction between a and an goes, h counts as a vowel. So "an hilarious typo" is actually correct.
Don't you just love it when the grammar n4zi's get it wrong?

Again, it depends on accent. The way I say it, "hilarious" starts with a consonant sound (like "hill"). If you pronounce it similarly to how you pronounce "honour", it'd count as a vowel sound. Both are correct, it just depends on dialect. ------
