As a heavy trader I am well aware of Jita issues. Here's my take on them.
1) Make it easier to work "like in Jita" from some other solarsystem in the region. Examples of how to do this:
-Let user save set of "market points" and provide easy way to select one of them on buy order dialog. or -Let user change his "active" station, regarding market work, to be some other station until he undocks or changes it again. This way you could get the "active" station automatically to all buy orders.
2) Make it more feasible to use courier contracts. Nowadays it's hardish to find them and often the collaterals are out of reach for newbies.
-Some sort of trust system might work - ie. you get trust points from each succesfully delivered courier contract and then those points drop percents of the collateral. -And/Or give secstatus hits for failing a courier and then let issuer set a secstatus limit to the contract.

indeed. i have always had my courier contracts snapped up. why? i give a nice reward.
if i ask for 5mil in collateral, i give 4mil in reward. none of this 100k malarkey. - PvPers always say "GB2WoW". the message is that EVE is hard, and people just need to deal with it. wasn't it funny how when nano's started making it hard for *them*, that all went out the window? |

Yes please.
I really like the idea of being able to set my location for market operations. It's so often I want to say "ok, assume I'm sitting in system XYZ, what are the closest offers for ABC" - and remote market checks are highly annoying without this.

to be honest, I think those People are dumbnuts (#1) or try to exploit the Contracts (#2).
(#1) They fear that their precious Stuff is stolen by the Deliveryman and take the Collateral as Insurance - I'd be ok with it, if they'd increase the Payout as well. Fuel doesn't grow on Trees after all ;)
(#2) Have someone bring a Delivery to you and shoot him in the Face, if you can see the analogy here.

I concure that courier contracts are fine as is... You don't see high reward courier contracts because they are snapped up by couriers... leaving only the crappy, under payed, over collateralized contracts which make it look like courier contracts don't work.
Offer 100k per jump for something that will fit in a badger and it will most likely be moved in a day or two
Offer 2M per jump and freightor pilots will be kicking down your door to move your stuff ç¦ |
