I just got a new thorax, so im looking for a good place to mine. .5 is the lowest i can handle solo, and ive heard that omber is the best you can find in .5, but i havent found a .5 system with omber yet. Anyone know of a good one? Preferably in Caldari space. Also, whats the best ore you can find in .1 space and which systems can you find it in?
Auction your items for isk, works sort of like ebay. |

You may not be able to find omber in Caldari space. So consider going to Gallente space perhaps. Gallente dosen't have any Kernite though, while Caldari does.

What's good in Omber? I think Kernit is better.

is there a list anywhere of systems and the ores in them?

you can find Omber in many 0.5 & 0.6 systems in the Placid region, for example Vivanier or Brellystier, maybe Aidart has some too. Another good ore to mine in high sec space is Pyroxeres, you can find that in almost every Caldari space system.

Amarr space has kernite and omber in 0.5s.

general rules lower sec = better ore and tougher NPC s = better ore

Here is a general rule of thumb when trying to figure out the best ore to mine.
"The higher up alphabetically an Ore is, the more ISK in minerals it contains."
Thus Veldspar containing the least ISK in minerals on up to Arkonor containing the most. Only Spodumain (which is between Crokite and Dark Ochre) and Mercoxit (above Arkonor) break the rule.
The best ore you find in or around empire space (and that includes the 0.0 regions that border empire is Hedbergite. Gneiss and up are only found in the most far flung regions and these are usually controlled by player alliances.
