Originally by: qtip nice tight fit, tbh. i ended up with that:
5x Ion, 2x Electron, 1x heavy Nos MWD, Web (Langour), Tracker T2, Cap Injector 1x L Repair, 3x Hardener, 1x T2 Dmg Mod, 1x T2 CPU 1x PowerDiag
Gonna search now for some named stuff. What fitting-skills are you reffereing too btw? (except elec and WU)
p.s. i want some of them T2 membranes
Hmm there's an idea, loose some tracking for a bit more damage.
Energy grid upgrades helps as well. Other then that, you just need good skills allround to get that setup to work well, don't want anyone using that setup run into combat and die, blaming my setup. ;)
Dalman: mind sharing ;) I love thinking about and setting up shippies. Especially setups that make the most of what's available ~{When evil and strange get together anything is possible}~ A tool is only useless when you don't know how to use it. - ActiveX The grass is always greener on the other side. - JoCool |

I've tried that, couldn't for the life of me decide what mods to dump for em though. ~{When evil and strange get together anything is possible}~ A tool is only useless when you don't know how to use it. - ActiveX The grass is always greener on the other side. - JoCool |

hahaha.
You can continue calling me "mr warpcore stab" (or whatever it is), as long as I continue killing your battleships.

Im surprised nobody on here has identified what appears to be one of the deadliest Blasterthron setups. I'll let you know when you've got it ------------------------------------------------

Edited by: Joshua Calvert on 06/07/2004 20:07:49 4 ion cannons, 3 heavy neutralizers, 1 tech II small smartie, 1x heavy cap injector, 1x sensor booser, 2x +2 warp-scramblers, lo-slots with whatever you need to fit that and have a decent armour setup.
Helpful if you have a friend to warp to and get close.

possible or totally crap?

Hey Josh that sounds rather interesting. I'd use a Scorp for this though, with 4 Siege and two neutralizers.

Have a griffin/Blackbird/Whatever pilot take care of warp scramming the target, if hes held there and you warp to your mate you should be able to pop the target reasonably fast.
What about.
6x Neutron Blasters, 2x whatever (missile launchers? i used 2x rocket launchers for defenders incase your way off the targets range.)
Midslots = All Cap Rechargers.
Low: the usual(ish) setup, 3x hardeners, 1-2x Repairers, a Tracking or dmg mod, rest = whatevers required to fit the above. __________________________________________

FYI I have tested all sorts of mega setups and I have found only one that does not require a heavy cap booster while decently armor tanking and blasting close range. Sadly that setup uses no MWD, the cap penalty is simply too high to EVER work IMO sans cap boosters.
The loadout in question is my beloved NPC setup and I daresay it kicks some rat ass, while tanking almost indefinitely and having constant, almost infinite cap.
Although my hatred of carring around cap booster charges is great, I don't think I could ever try it in pvp :(
JC's idea is one that has crossed my mind, use heavy neut's to drain the guys cap down and boosters to get your own back up and then blast him away. Kinda sad he posted it here actually...

How do you close in when hunting NPCs that stay at range?

Only ones that I can't get close enough to solo are the Arch Angel Seraphim's, they like a range of 40 km and it takes a team approach to trap one close enough to web.
Sorta working on optimizing NPC setups with a MWD, sure it can be done but it requires much closer attention to cap and need to warp out etc.

Tak, people would be generally surprised though if they encountered that setup unless they'd see a name. Quick, delete the part of your posts and noone will notice.
