Since the last patch, my starmap hasn't been working well. Sometimes it works fine, other times it shows the world map control panel, but doesn't show the map.
I've also been having other problems, like getting stuck exiting space stations (reloading the game seems to fix this for a little while), and having some objects disappear, or partially disappear (again, reloading eve seems to get rid of this for a while).
I rolled back my drivers and it seemed to clear up the stuff disappearing, however the starmap problem and getting stuck problem still exist.
If anybody knows how I can fix my starmap, I'd really appreciate it if you could help.

Edited by: Grav on 18/06/2004 07:26:35 I have had the same problem, I was also getting invisible jumpgates and stations as well. They would only become visible at around 2000m. I was advised in the help channel to clear my cache and this seemed to help but an hour later it happened again. This time i only wiped the map cache folder and it all went ok again for a bit longer.
Seems to point to corrupt files in the map cache i think.

I had exactly the same problem.
When you use the starmap, everything but the map itself shows, ie. the menu loads, but the rest doesn't. The "close map" button is showing, but it doesn't work. The gate is only invisible when you tried to open the starmap, and couldn't close it anymore. When you approach the gate up to 5 to 10 km, it will appear.
Somehow this problem fixed itself yesterday, at least for me. |

I have the same problem with the starmap, sometime i get a grey screen, or a black one, with no stars or anything. Sometimes it works. Sometimes, i can fix it with changing a option. Strange thing, because i liked the EVE starmap... all these stars...

Mine works for solar system map ok, but starmap often is just black. Only way I can get it to work is log out and back in again. Most annoying!

Nice big jump from 2004-2007 here.
I'm having the starmap issue, it usually only shows once for as long as I like, then its gone till relog.
Noone really responds to these posts? Officially?

It would be greatly appreciated if we would get an official response - in form of a patch that finally fixes that crappy thing.
CPP, please make the map more useful , not just seamless.

Edited by: Harry Mack on 12/01/2008 18:33:55 Edited by: Harry Mack on 12/01/2008 18:33:13 Same starmap problem for me - seems to zoom to a black area of the map, with "you are here" just about visible at the top of the map. No amount of fiddling with zoom can recentre it. May have been caused when viewing map while warping, but I can't be sure. Only way to fix it is logout - this is a real pain.
Solarsystem map working ok.
