From your experience, witch are better for ratting guriast and serpentis, Ogre or Wasp?

Kinetic drones - although there really is not a lot of difference (we're talking a couple of % here) because although Thermal is their second lowest resistance, the increased multiplier on the Ogres negates this... either/or - If you had one, I wouldn't make training for the other a priority - we're talking maybe a few seconds difference when killing a battleship.

Wasps & Warden's are better than Ogres & Gardes, for both factions. Other people will tell you otherwise, but maths reveals the truth.

Both factions are the same for the damage types - they're weakest to Kinetic first, then Thermal.

I disagree, it's a pretty big difference. Kinetic are far better against Guristas / Serps, not just because of the difference in damage (which can range from anywhere between 4% and 20% more) but because they fly faster and track better. IIRC, the biggest difference can be seen when shooting at Serpentis HACs but it's less exaggerated for Guristas.
Assuming that you can use T2 mediums/heavies of both types (which means spec skill for both is level 2 or more) then kinetic will always do more overall damage. IMO, anyone who NPCs regularly is silly to not train up for both unless they are going the sentry route. Personally I hate to stand still so I don't touch the things.
But, yeah. These forums seriously need some indicator that the post has ended and the sig has started.

wet is right. ogres are slower and donĘt speed up as fast because they are heavy. consider travel times between targets, especially widespread guristas battleships, and you soon appreciate the wasp as the superior drone for missioning gur/serp. Cheers!

Well, yeah as I said, the kinetic drones are better. However if you need to train up heavy caldari drones to tech 2 levels and you already have Ogre IIs, I personally wouldn't bother.
I've got heavy T2 drones for my alt and Gallente, Caldari and Minmitar Drone Spec 4 (so equal skills). Whilst I didn't have a stop watch at the time, I did play around between Caldari and Gallente heavy II drones on the battleship spawns and I didn't notice much of a difference in kill times - a few seconds at most (ok, 10, 20 seconds perhaps) between the Gallente and Caldari drones.
The Caldari ones were faster at moving and faster at killing; so as I originally said, go for the Kinetic ones, however it wasn't like, say, comparing a Raven to an Apoc on killing guristas - the difference wasn't as pronounced as that.

I am glad that here are different opinions on this subject, but I agree that kinetic drones are slightly better. I makes no difference for me because I have all t2 heavy (except amarr) and all t2 sentry at disposal. Price is also a big deal, because kinetic drones are few times cheaper and if you loose it it doesnt hurt that much (like when you get disconnected).
