I just got killed by 150KM sentryguns at 165km. I would have done a petition, but since CCP has been kind enough to remove the option of "Other" petition I will just have to make due with whining in the forums.
I was sitting at 165 KM from the CLOSEST sentrygun when the Convoy got into range, when i opened fire, note that this worked after the big patch, but not now after the second smaller patch. They opened fire, all of them, even them at like 220km for all I know, All i saw was a whole lot of sentrydmg and weponsfire.
This must be a bug since there is no report of changed Sentryrange. If not, the ignorance of not repoporting such a change just cost me a whole bunch of ISK.
here comes the FUN part, when i was picking up my can, another ship was shooting at convoys CLOSER to the sentries then me. IF this is NOT a bug, And CCP wont reimburce me with my ship I will be seriously upset with the ways bug-vicctims are handled.
CCP can think of this thread as my Petition, since there is no other correct place to put it. Sorry for the whine boys and girls.

Cant you petition it like an exploit ? the sentry guns exploited you didnt they ?

Some Sentries range seems to be higher then 150km.... there is no way to know which one tho.. :)

Not to flame, but you really should know better that to trust a patch with that much.
What I think might have happened is the sentries target BSes further than cruisers or frigs...
What kind of ship was the other person in?

Could be, I was in a scorpion and he was in a Blackbird, but it had to be changed in the smaller patch after the big one, because we camped the station with a Apoc at the same distance after the big patch.

Any offical word on the sentry gun ranges? Before the patch in 0.4 and under we could stay over 75km away and we'd be fine, this time I was 76km away and they opened fire in 0.1

No clue, but since I got reimburced I guess the Empire Canons are at 150, even though they shoot me at 160 :\...
No clue about the low sec once though...

in 1.0 to 0.5 sentry guns have a rabge no greater than 300km and not less than 150km
in 0.4-0.1 sentry guns have a max range of 150km
Thats what was blogged when they changed sentry guns

convoy hunting 101:
you cannot attack outgoing convoys, the sentry guns WILL own you.
you can attack incomming convoys, the sentry guns don't care about these ones.

Last weekend i hunted some outgoing convoys from a npc faction with a standing off 6.60++ .
This station was in a 0.5 system and also my station were i always take agent missions .Now comes the unbelievable,i attacked the convoys only 65km from the nearest Sentry and the sentry didnt even get "agro" at me,so i made a bm,mwd to the same station and took my hauler ....I did exactly the same in Nonni (most convoys are bugged there) but i kept a distance at 75km just to be sure,all at station with a 0.0 or lower standing .

CCP have screwed sentries they now hit at over 130k in 0.4's and stuff and can still wreck you for w*nk damage

Are you sure had 150km between you and each of the sentry guns and were not sitting 150km+ just from the gate. The gate and the sentries are 2 different things.
