markol	Posted - 2004.06.18 17:16:00 - [1] Well, it's done. I killed my first victim. But I felt bad about it. Here's how the story goes: I been looking around for some one who does not have any friends. There were like 6 people in local, and I was hunting them down for 40 minutes. Looking at all the roids, doing the scans, etc. Eventualy I gave up and went NPC hunting. With the new bounties, I was making a decent amount of money. (This is 0.2 system). Then bam, comes a Rapture out of no where right into the belt where I was. Check out the corp makes sure it's not some uber member of m00 so that my corp will not catch hell for it in the end. Out of excitememnt I immediately lock the guy at 40km. Then as soon as I press the button I realize that I am too far to scramble. So I turn on the MWD and haul ass to him in my Domenix. Meanwhile I sweet talk him in local so that he would not run away. I was sure he would disappear as soon as he saw me bearing down on him (this took like 2 minutes). Once he was scrambled, webbed and otherwise immobilized, I tried to get bounty out of him. But he would not budge, so I let lose my 8 ogres and they pummle him to the ground in the time it took him to fire off 3 shots. Now this being my first pirating experience, I felt bad for the guy. Especially sicne hew as only a few months old and only in noob corp. So in the end, I gave him 500k to offset his insurance costs, and left his can alone. There were some nice multi mill named components in there. Aren't I a nice pirate? I just wnated to share my first experience of killing some one. In the end it turned out profitable. He and his buddies retained me for protection duties. They are paying me 2x more than I was making while mining. W00t! L00k, I teh ub3r p1r4t3.

(i'm not a pirate) I find it really nice of u to leave his stuff alone, and give him 500k. I myself have been playing for about 2.5/3 months, and if not done right, people do not have the skills/equipment to retaliate or otherwise. yeah.. maybe call on their corp.. but still, most people want revenge on their own Any idea how the guy responded to his/her kill? i'ts always nice to know how an victim responded... did they take it well, did they know it could happen and live with it, or what.. At least.. good luck on your further travels :) When you dream, there are no rules. People can fly. Anything can happen.

He was in a frigate stationed in 0.4 by a gate, and a red blink showed up next to him so I knew he wasn't exactly snow-white. And since it was just a frig I figured he wouldn't be that bothered really. So I launched 5 cruise missiles at him, thinking since it was below 0.5, I'd be fine. However the sentry guns at the gate locked onto me straight away and my Caracal was space dust in seconds. Ah well, never mind. Live and learn, or die and learn in this case We exchanged evemails about it and he was as amused about it as I was

I was flying around (crow) with crimson (scorp) and i ran into a maller, a kessie and a rifter at a belt. I started orbiting the maller, scrambled and started spamming some rockets at her. Crimson jumped in, jammed them and the frigs ran. We shot the maller and i scrambled the pod at which point she logged off. Well, Crim shot the pod. BTW I think in this day and age of freedom we should all have freedom of speech - if u dont like swearing (whatever the rules about this are cos censorship sux) then get used to it. Its natural to be irate when u lose 6mil isk worth of stuff just like that to some idiots btw crim is -8.8 scurity status and he did pod rockette and no he didnt log off whatever crim and liu say, they just cold blooded killed him. We know its part of the game and anger is part of life when wrong is dont to you so just get used to it and grow up. And to add insult to injury the pirates can petition an angry and irate poddee for swearing after killing em, that simply is a load of crap. youd have to be some kinda low life scum to do that, morons!!!! I first tried it, I believe, in a Caracal, and I had a rather nice setup for killing frigates, including a warp scrambler (20K range) and I think I had a webber... Anyhow, the first frigate I found and scrambled managed to get out of range and warp out. The pilot, his name long lost to me, tried to give me a guilt trip for locking on to him (this is in 0.4, by the way). I managed to take out a Blackbird later on, which I picked up a multispectral jammer BPO I recently lost in a freak experimental water-cooled toaster experiment (ok, so I lost it while movinng around in 0.0). The pilot of the Blackbird didn't say anything in local, and the things I learned from that experience were that it's not always worth it to fight in 0.4 taking the sec hits, given the fact that you'll not always get anything out of it. Oh, it came around to me again, though, as I lost my second (or third) Thorax while attempting to mine in the same system. A Dominix made short work of me with 425's. And to this day the results of those expeditions can still be seen on my security status rating, which I'd like to get positive, and leave the fighting to 0.0.
