I've done EVERYTHING on the long list of things you have to do just to connect to the sodding test server.
- I've copied my EVE folder - I've downloaded and applied the patch to the copied-folder-version of my EVE client - I've gone to the copied folder, and made a shortcut to the EVE.exe file, and I've put in the weird thing in the shortcut to make it do whatever it is that it needs to do. - I've then started the copied EVE client, and IT DOESN'T WORK.
The forum channel for discussing this kind of thing is dead - hasn't been posted in for a few hours as far as I could make out, and if I don't get some feedback in a short space of time, I'm gonna just gonna give up and be all ****ed off about it until I try again in the distant future and probably still fail.
Why is this so difficult??!?
Cheers me dears, TX.

Something's wrong with the version numbers.
I've updated to 63591, which is the versiont that the EVE Website says I should be on, but the EVE-Singularity-client says I need to have version 63741, which, as far as I can find on the EVE website - doesn't exist. So what gives? CCP have updated the test-server but not provided the patch?

It isn't difficult, but without telling us what you mean by "IT DOESN'T WORK", we're not going to be able to assist you.

Wait a tick, either I've been seeing things, or the website's been updated.
I think I'm going crazy.

The test server was taken down a while ago and we deployed a client fix. The auto patching should take you from the last Singularity client (63591) to the latest (63741). If your client is older than 63591, then you need to:
Delete the old client Copy your current Tranquility client again and Apply the patch http://www.eve-online.com/patches/patches.asp?s=singularity

i copied my current tranquility client, which reads version 61817, to another directory and manually applied the patch "evepremiumpatch61817-63741test" and when i try to log on it appears to be trying to locate the tranquility server and gives me an incorrect prootcal messege.
also, i believe i need to ask you for permission to be able to log onto the test server as i recently have re-activated my account once again.

thanks, that worked. but now the game directs me to patch up but i already did that and on top of this the web page it directs me to is no good, "We were unable to locate a patchfile for your build no. (63741)."
they made this so dificult on the average user.

See the other Test Server thread on the front page of the forums - I made another thread for another day of Test Server woes - there's a link there that goes to a site with all kinds of patches on it!

Probaly working as intended then. If you can't figure out how to connect to the test server then you probaly won't know how to recognize and report bugs you find there as the primary function of the test server is to test out new builds for release to tq. However that doesn't stop the vast majority of players (me included:p) who go there from treating it as the defacto place to sling that e-peen around in ffa1.

that's not how i view the test server, actually. i have always viewed it to log on and test fittings and gameplay actions to get an understanding of how the game works.
