When I sell an item, such as refined minerals from ore, I sometimes right click and "View Market Details". It shows me certain areas are paying a higher amount of ISK for what I am selling. My question is why are some buyers listed/highlighted Green? And also where it says buyers I haven't noticed any of them buying for a lot of ISK but they are still in green. And how does the quantity thing work? Does wanting more of the stuff I'm selling mean I'll get more or less....?

You'll find that it's actually fairly intuitive. Green buy orders are those that affect the station you are currently in. Quantity... you'll have to be more specific. If you're looking at the quantity they're buying, that's how much more of the commodity the buy order 'needs' before it closes. If you're looking at the minimum quantity, that's the minimum amount the buy order is looking to buy; useful for large volume orders like trit. |

As was stated, green buy orders are buy orders you can fill from your current location. If you want to sell to a different buy order, look at the location, range, and distance to determine how feasible it is to move your ore into range.
The quantity column shows how many more units of whatever that order will accept until it's complete and it closes. ---

Edited by: Baka Lakadaka on 24/09/2008 03:02:49 I'll explain this from a buyer's point of view.
If I want to buy some minerals, I can put an order up in station and hope that someone flys over with the minerals and delivers them to me. To do that I have to offer a great price.
If I want to pay less and have my own hauler/freighter, I might decide that I want to place an order for the solar system, a couple of jumps or even a region. So I place my order and decide how far I'm prepared to travel. I might also decide I don't want to fly to 50 stations and pick up 1 or 2 veldspar from each one. So I put a minimum order of 1000 units or 10,000 units. This makes my trip to that station worthwhile. I might offer a slightly better price if I'm asking for batches of 10,000, to encourage you to stockpile it for me.
Now back to the seller's point of view.
You're in your station and looking at the buy orders, you have 10,000 units and the order I placed is showing green to you. That means you can sell to me and I'll come pick it up. If there's a better order 1 jump away, but it's not green, then that buyer isn't prepared to come pick up the goods. You have to decide, do I sell at the lower price and have someone else pick up the goods, or ship it all over for the better price?
Sometimes it's more worthwhile to just sell right there and go mine more stuff, rather than spend time moving items for a better deal. Time really is ISK, spend time moving or spend time mining? It's up to you to work out which will make you more ISK.
