When you are charging a group of missile-spamming NPC, it becomes a real pain to target them since the missiles are "blocking" you from right clicking the NPC drone itself.
Please remove the missile bracket highlighting on mouseover, it serves no purpose but is only in the way...

or you could fight like a real pilot and use the autoscanner to lock your targets. It's the only effective way to ensure you're hitting the right target

Yeah, that would be swell if they would have shown up on the scanner in the first place!

Done, doesn't work. They simple don't show. Mission drones from the Angel Cartel are bugged that way...
Anyhow, it's still not an argument for not removing a useless "feature" which is nothing but a hindrance, is it?

they're actually very good if you're using smartbombs or defenders. it's hard to spot them when zoomed out and near a sun for example.

Missile brackets are fine. What is really bugging me and has been since it was implemented is that they are "highlighted" so that you can't do a mouseover on an object behind the missile.
If you press and hold alt, the game shows all missiles. That's a great feature. Not being able to target things because of irrelevant small objects being in the way, now that's bad.
And the scanner "argument" (or in the fashion it was written, more so) remains a pathetic attempt at ***** enlongening from a noob character... has no real value, since every attempt at simplifying is a step in the right direction.

Seams to me like you the rude little n00b Nifhtfang. Have some respect and listen to him, because you obviously have no idea how to play this game.

Um you obviously don't know who nightfang is so I'd say you are the one who has to have some respect and listen.

He is no noob that's a given - but he did lash out inappropriatly
As for missile thing - doesn't it stack up if you hold your mouse over? I wouldn't know about that since I am not hunting NPC drones but that used to work?
As for removing it ... I know about ALT but still fancy seeing them lighted ---------------------- I make up with stupidity for the rest of my corporation.

Well, perhaps I did lash out, but a year of posting on this forum has given me a zero-tolerance for people who clearly have no idea what they are talking about.
Anyhow, I'm actually not sure about whether the a mouseover gives you a list or not (similar to the station list appearing when there are multiple). In the "heat" of battling NPC I can't swear I've had patience enough to try that.
Spontaneously I'd have to say it doesn't work that way. I will return with an answer when I have it. I still maintain that it's a real pain in combat, and should be tweaked...

Its works fine when it actually updates. Who else has heard the targeting noise while looking at an empty scanner? I've started reopening it after every jump now.

Make sure you have mission drones configured in your scanner as well as pirate drones. I have no problem getting any of the mission ships to show up in the scanner.

I constantly open-close the scanner window as it bugs, and shows 0 targets. Closing, reopening fixes it. Its worse with this patch, it used to happen very rarely, this patch Ive had it happen every system jump for 6-7 jumps in a row. |
