If you consider how much a person living with the dollar is "sacrificing" when buying a subscription to EVE online compared to a person using the euro then the person using the dollar is sacrificing a larger amount of purchasing power. A person versed in economics might be able to tell you more, but this is the simple truth of it in my eyes. You might take it farther and compare salaries between the two continents, compare sick days, compare vacation days and so on. In the end the purchasing power an average person in Europe is expending when buying a month of EVE online is less than the purchasing power expended by a person in the US. Value is value of course, but if you are worried about paying more than the guy from the US then you need to look at all the facts.

Its all scaled to the affordability of the consumer in each specific market. People here in the U.S. like to go down to Mexico for cheap vacations and come back with stuff they bought on the cheap. Alcohol being one of the biggest attractions. IF those of us in the U.S. were to have to pay the same as Euros, we wouldn't be playing. The game would be far to expensive when compared to other MMOs. Wow,EQ2 and others would have a few more subs lining their pockets while CCP effectively cut a large number of players possible. I heard about a friend going to europe and not wanting to stay to long because everything is expensive over there. Seriously why would i want to go there and pay $30 for an average lunch when I can drop $5 and get a tastey foot long sub over here?? you can keep your fried snails. EDIT: Maybe they would respect europe a bit more if you bought yourself some common sense. as for the guy saying we would cry freedom tears, actually we would just toss your game overboard,start our own and see swarms of europeans flock to it.

The reasoning for this is pretty simple, if ccp kept up with exchange rates alot of US customers would either chose not to keep playing or no longer have enough money to pay for their accounts. In this case ccp will lose a great deal of business. So they can either lose more of their american playerbase or take less money to keep them as customers. As for your taking joy that all of america is going broke and in a financial collapse, just remember that although this is an american problem because our corrupt politicians and government has their fingers in everything when ours goes so to does the european banking systems. So next time you wish ill will on a bunch of people you have no interaction with whatsoever besides internet spaceships and some news articles, everything can come around to you just as easily as it is to whoever you are looking at.
