Here is my Drakefit:
HIGH 7 Heavy Missile Launcher II
MID 1 Shield Recharger II 3 Large Shield Extender II 2 Invulnerability Field II
LOW 3 Shield Power Relay II 1 Ballistic Control System II
So... my problem is that I canŠt really get all things to fit. IŠve got Electronics V, Engineering V, Weapon Upgrades V and am now working on adv. Weapon Upgrades. But even though i get adv. w.u. to V i donŠt think the last launcher will fit either way. The problem is that the powergrid is too low and my question is finally: are there any other skills that can lower the powergrid-usage for my fit?
IŠve seen this fit as an recommendation here on the forums so someone must have tried it.

There's a shield skill (shield upgrades?) which is required to 5 to fit the 3 LSE Drake variant.

Also, dont discount powergrid rigs. They can be a bit pricy, but just one would throw everything up that you need. |

Why even bother with one BCS2?
If you are going for all tank, go all tank.
2 PDS2 + 2 SPR2 + 3inv2 > 3SPR2 + 2 inv2 +1 SR2.

When fitting a drake, active tank it. Shield recharge time is the most important for a drake. Here is the fittings that I have.
8x Heavy missile launchers
1X unvulnerablility field 1X EM hardener 1X Kinetic hardener 1X Exposive hardener 2X Shield Extenders II
4X Shield Power Relay
If you have the skills and ISK add rigs.

Active tanking is done by using a rep or shield booster. Active hardeners is certainly not active tanking.

You bother with the one BCU II because it helps your damage output tremendously... and it's not like you actually need all that tank. TBH, over tanking is a cardinal sin in missions... so fit 2x BCU II's and 2x SPR II's. :)

The T2 heavies are what is killing you. Switch to Arby's with faction. |

Why? They're more expensive, do less damage, and training a 5 day skill fixes the problem entirely. Might as well suggest he go for faction heavy launchers... at least they're better.

You need Shield upgrades to 5 and Adv Weapon Upgrades to 4 to slip it in. Pretty much everyone should have adv to 4 IMO.
Any of the T1 named save you about 20-30 grid. Limos launchers can at least get you through without breaking the bank if you want max tank

You'll never fit that without Advanced Weapon Upgrades at 4 - the T2 laucchers just take too much grid.
I have a 3 LSE II Drake fit that works quite well, that doesn't use T2 - here it is:
[Drake, missioning] HIHGS: 6x XR-3200 Heavy Missile Bay 1x Arbalest Assault Launcher
MIDS: 3xLSE II 1xInvulnerability Field II 2x rat-specific hardeners, named (t2's 5% additional IMHO isn't worth the fitting) LOWS: 2x SPRII 2x BCU II
RIGS: 2x CFP 1, that I made myself.
Over 50K EHP and can tank any l3 I've been in so far, including Extravaganzas and the Blockade wiht no warpout - and I don't even have Weapon Upgrades to V yes. Only five more days...:)
Other related skills are at level 3 or 4 - I have Engineering V, Electronics V, the rest at 3 or 4.
The Assault launcher is effective on frigates for for just that little extra DPS whent he enemy comes within 35K on my current skills - once I fifish Weapon Upgrades V I'll fit the seventh heavy (just lack a little powergrid to do it now).

It was far easier/faster to train the shield PG skill than AWU5.

You will want the 7x Heavies. Just fit whatever you can for it. You need T2 light drones to really help the Drake out. If you are using it for L3's there is no need to monster tank it.
If you insist on the Drake for L4's then monster tank it and bring along a DPS buddy. Max tank'd Drake will spend full racks killing 1 BS at a time.
