I am seeing high radial velocities from stationary objects and objects I am headed directly towards like cargo containers.
Shouldn't I be seeing 0 radial velocity to these?
This has got to be killing the turret accuracy if this is being seen by the server! ____ If your not dyin' your not tryin'. |

i'm asking myself the same question. another case is when you head the same direction than NPC are (such as flying away ) both ships are heading the same direction and in straight line. after some time (to stabilize trajectories) i can see radial velocity > 100 m/s when i expected to see 0 too.

bug report it
perhaps this is what's causing the really ****ty accuracy if the radial velcity is bugged, accuracy might well be perfectly working.. just off corrupt data
if thats the case, devs need to know asap, so the game can be made playable again

that is a good clue, I hope it is something that simple...would explane some of the weird math in relation to fall off maybe.

it's a really easy error to introduce as well.. mistpye a single line, and the math is hosed hell, with radial velocity, maybe even as little as a dropped 0
could take months to even find out what section of code is doing it without clues like this

agree, I did not even think of it yet, it was introduced with the patch so it makes sense it would be broken, heh...they REALLY need to test stuff.

You're confusing radial with transversal.

no, I'm not. Radial velocity is the velocity of objects going around my ship, or at some angle off to the side.
18km, velocity -, radial velocity -214, my velocity 218.
seems like as I slow down, radial velocity is matching my ships velocity, maybe they got them switched.
secure cans and sentury guns are showing no velocities.
