lets say some players setup a POS in high sec. What stops some random corp from just war decing it and and destroying it?
I am looking for some specifics on how safe it would be for a small corp to own a pos
i tried looking at some guides but i dont use pdf as some had . It is all about the ISK

There's not realy anything stopping that, but you get a warning 24 hours before the war start so you can unanchor it during the war. The bes defense is probably to do what you can to not attract any attention to it or yourself though...so don't use that character to set it up now.

You'd have to set up the POS to have proper defenses, which is somewhat easier to do in high sec than in 0.0, because:
- The war declaration is a 24-hr advance notice for you to online your guns / defenses (thus you're only spending fuel for defenses if you get attacked, rather than all the time).
- They can't bring dreadnaughts and carriers; they can only bring battleships (or smaller), and so you have a bigger defensive advantage.
- The loots aren't that phat: moons in high sec don't have minerals in them, so other than a competitor trying to destroy your refining or invention operation, nobody really cares about your little pos on that random moon that you're at. It's not like fighting over a dyspro moon.
It's not impossible to take a POS down in high-sec, but it is more difficult and less worthwhile, so only determined enemies bother to attack.
As for proper defenses, you'll have to read up in the POS / Industry forum, but e-war (jamming, dampening) works on the sub-capital ships the enemy will bring, so you can use the powergrid for guns and resistances, and the CPU for warp jammers / webifiers / ECM / dampeners to frustrate / kill them easier.
It helps to have a few of your corp members trained for POS gunnery (requires Anchoring 5, I think), so that you can properly focus fire and jam the proper ships. It also helps to have remote armor and hull repair and remote shield boost ships in the POS, and extra strontium, so that you can maybe play reinforced-mode games.

The biggest thing to remember as a small Corp with a POS is that there are other Corps who will search out POS's just to extort money from to 'keep your POS safe'. They will bank on the fact that it will be more advantageous for you to just pay up than remove the POS and lose the moon, or even lose the POS. If you are in an Alliance, this risk decreases a bit due to dec'ing the Corp equals dec'ing the whole Alliance and your casual pirate corp will move along to find easier prey. Not to say they are not out there, I know of one anchored, but offline, POS belonging to a very small Corp that has sat untouched for weeks.
Just something to think about.

If you have a solid defence when needed, I doubt your enemie will come at your POS with 30+ Sniper BS...
If that is the case, then your POS is pretty safe. Lysianna Hazumason
