Heavy Nosferatu's require Energy Emission Skill Level 3 but do not make use of that skills bonus.
I understand that there is no activation cost of a Nosferatu so perhaps the skill should increase the cap transferred by 5% per level?

Agreed. A simple way to fix this would be making it so that the Nosferatus spend 100 energy to take 200.
Skill level 0: Net 100 energy gained. Skill level 1: Net 105 Energy gained
Und so weiter...

Hmm, very true.
Still, that's a good price to pay considering you stop the opponent from getting back cap to run hardeners and other low-cap-requiring modules!
I'd prefer it my way any day

Edited by: rowbin hod on 19/06/2004 12:18:50 I don't understand. I though nosferatus took 100 cap off the target, and gave it to you, and that it had no activation cost. Overall effect - your target's cap goes down by 100, and your cap goes up by 100.
I understand it's bugged at the moment, but is it meant to work the way i think it should? --- "Due to the European lard shortage, we are currently unable to supply this product." |

The way they work right now is they take the same as they drain, so the net is no drain for you but target loses energy. So effectivle a free energy neut

What Joshua was proposing was adding a skill bonus so that you can drain up to 125 cap every 12 seconds with regular large nosferatus. Sounds good to me.

It does seem odd that these do not get any sort of skill bonus, but it isn't really a big deal I guess. ------------------------------------------------

It does when I've specifically trained the skill to level 5 thinking it would improive Nosferatu's

We tested small nosferatus mounted on a frigate and there appeared to be no gain at all for the user. There was no noticeable effect on the target, but it was a Tempest so it might not have noticed. -- We are the Octavian Vanguard www.octavianvanguard.net http://www.serenitymovie.com |

I think this would be quite a neat feature with NPCs, if they lose the ability to shield boost and armour repair if you can drain their cap... :)

heavy nosferatos work quite well, They take 100 and give 100.
I have read that there are named nosferatos with a range of 30km instead of the 21km. 21km sucks a bit since many npc bs orbit at 25km.

Maybe its just me but is the Nosferatu effect reversed?
It seems to come from the target and hitting me instead of the other way around...
Also when using weapons disruptors I'm consumed by a nice blue wireframe globe until I dock or jump into another system. -----------

Yeah, the effect comes from the target and hits you. Thats the target's energy getting sucked into your battery.

Apart from that some NPCs have an extremely limited cap ( ), you can, and you get cap from them while doing it too. However, when their "virtual cap" (400 something on a guristas mortifier (Moa NPC) but 850 on a terrorist (Osprey NPC)) is out, you won't get any more cap out of them.
