Hello
If i'm going to ninja mine in 0,0 how many wcs do i need? so i can warp away if i hit a spawn. 1 or 2? or maybe even 3??

well assuming elite frigs work similarly to actuall 'ceptors, they will have a scramble strength of 1 MINIMUM!!! (could be up to 4 quite easily) and you could encounter 4 (at least thats what it was like on chaos a while back), so i wouldnt rely on stabs at all, and pack some anti-frig gear (this kind of defeats the point in ninja mining though). maybe fit dual MWDs? not sure if that would be enough to outrun them before they can web you though. personally i wouldnt risk it in anything other than a frig.

Dont carry any, if your scrambled you wont stand a chance in a frigate. As the other guy said, fit MWDs and run asap, I've had up to 4 frigates scramble me and they are a pain in the arse ------------------------------------------

I'm talking about in a Vexor or omen ofc, not a frigate. So i need dual mwd to outrun them and warp away?
But then i need to fit cap relays and a cap recharger right?.. i was hoping to fit some cargo expanders so i could maybe take 1 refine in 1-2 trips(ark or bistot).

you dont really need many relays, youre only gonna burst from the MWD to get out of range, maybe fit a battery so you got more cap to work with. make sure your miners arent going to drain your cap very much. i wonder if laying a minefield where the rats spawn would work?

Edited by: KrogothZero on 19/06/2004 21:43:03 A single mwd would suffice, I use a 10mn ab on one of the vexor but always point in the direction im warping out. There is no point in out running the frigs just get to 75% asap and warp out and webbing doesnt stop warp.

dont they warp scram as well? if not you dont even really need the MWD, just get some nanofibers or whatever they are to improve agility (and acceleration???)

Unfotunately the pirate spawns can be hell, if you get elite frigs on you there will be 4 minimum you can only fit 4 low slots and if you want 4xminer II's then you need a slot for co-Proc. This leaves you with 3xstabs, and as I said at least 4 frigs will jump (in my experience it has never been less than 5) and therefore you are dead if they warp near/ontop you. In all probability its down to luck if they don't warp ontop of you you will be fine to warp out or mwd away then warp, however if they warp ontop of you with elites im afraid you must say bye-bye to your ship.
So really I use 2 of them simply to counter any stray player rats that appear, you will have more luck getting away from them, then these new elite frigs.

Hehhehe I tried it once, into a belt, 0.2.....lotsa rats.....I had brought alotta mines in my cargo, been saving them just for the fun of it, so I threw a few houndred of them in the middle of everything and *hid* behind the mines........the smaller frigates got wasted but the cruisers hardly noticed :(.....the mines didnt exactly fly over to the NPCs :(

Do warp scramblers on NPC's stack these days then ? 4 frigs would scramble but the 4x str.2 would not stack and remain str.2. At least they didnt stack before the patch afaik.
I use two wcs all the time, never got scrambled. But I havent tried after the patch yet.
And just use named miner I's to save your cap a bit, fit 2MWD+ small cap battery and you should be fine too. Hit the double mwd when teh frigs turn up and you should be gone in no time. They dont really instalock you know, from spawn time to locktime youve got a few seconds.

yeah i think the reason people think they instalock you is that people dont realise the flashing red brackets round a ship means you are already locked, not in the process of being locked.

forget wcs. fit as many expanders as poss and keep yourself moving and aligned to a warpable object. Pick 2 objects opposite to each other and move between the 2 to keep within mining range. Just double click the object to insta warp out whenever npc's pop up. Even with the slowest reactions you never get scrambled and make more isk than when wasting slots on wcs.
